I think I may be DIABETIC...
hello all
doing ok, but started having the shakes and feeling kinda funny lately. Mother -in -law visiting, and has a glucometer. We checked my blood sugar... 140 yesterday, and 128 this am, and had not eaten anything sweet. I guess I need to go to dr and get a real diagnosis. But on the bright side, another co-morbity that will help get my surgury approved quicker. (that sounds terrrible, doesn't it). Have a good day all.

I am diabetic.......and the highest my blood sugar has ever gotten is 120......BUT still my mother is on shots and almost blind......and my grandmother died young and due to weight and diabetes issues.
I am approved for surgery on Dec. 6th.....
and it helped me get approval.
I don't know if I should hope for you that you DO, or not lol.
I almost hoped to have the diagnosis to help with
surgery approval for me, yet at the same time thought NOOOOOO!!!!!
it is a double edged sword there.
HUGS.......
Good Luck and hope you get an approval SOON!!!!!!
Blessings,
Katie
Hi Kristi.
The same day I met my surgeon I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. My sugar was 270 fasting. It never went below 200, even on glucophage and usually ran in the mid 300's. I never had shakes or anything, actually that reminds me more of low blood sugar type symptoms but 140 and 128 aren't low lol. I got tired a LOT when my sugar was higher. Definitely get it checked out though!
Best wishes,
Cathy
I'm thinking probably pre-diabetic most likely. gotta love it, this self-diagnosis stuff. that is what i get for being in the medical field.
the numbers i gave are not really very high, but for me they are compared to what my sugar used to run. but i am older now, probalbly heavier than a few years back too. Oh well, nothing surprises me anymore. The closer to 40 I get, the more stuff seems to be going wrong. Only hope I can hold up long enough to get this surgury so I can fix all these lovely problems that overweight and age bring.
You just made me want to check mine to find out for sure......My mom has type II and only found out a year ago.I am the type of person that thinks if I don't check-I won't have it ,I know silly right! I am only 32 but lately my arm and hand is going numb and I am losing balance as well, but I am Anemic so I just thought that is what it is- I will find out today.
