Far South Sub Area

I am a newbie. I had an open RNY on 10/18. Slow recovery but good weight loss so far. Does anyone know of a support group in the far south suburbs? I think I would benefit from talking to others and just sharing experiences. Thanks, Nancy

Nancy, Different surgeon..but 15 mos post op I can answer questions for ya..etc etc Also can point you in the right direction to keep yourself in clothes as you shrink (cheap!!) Email me any time! Love, Kathy aka Dixie

Nancy - I am still a ways away from approval but I know that there is a support group meeting in Joliet at St. Joe's. They meet the third Monday of the month. Unfortunately, you just missed it for this month but you can always try for next month. Congrats and good luck Nancy

Nancy, Their is a support group the 1st Wednesday of every month at the Hilton hotel in Oak Lawn (95th & ****ro ave). Its part of the Midwest Bariatric Institute (my surgeon's group, but anyone can come). Also every Tuesday they have meetings for post-ops with a different subject covered each week. For the Tuesday meeting there is a $10 charge, but the monthly meeting is free. There's one sponsored by Riverside Bariatric Center in Kankakee-across the street from Riverside Hospital. We meet at 1485 Butterfield Trail in a Senior Citizen's Complex on the last Wednesday of each month. Winter meetings start at 6:30 and are held in their conference room. Sherry
