So quiet here these days!
Hi all!
Yesterday was my 1st day back to work. I was exhausted. You'd think that sitting on my a$$ all day wouldn't wear me out so much!!! he he he However, my eyes were blurry by the time I got home from reading and trying to catch up.
Dale (DH) was off work yesterday. He called my office at 3:30 pm and apologized that the house was a mess, he didn't do anything cleaning, and he played video games with the boys all day. He was 'warning' me so I wouldn't be 'mad' at him when I got home from work. I was ticked.
He was full of **** I got home and he'd cleaned the whole living room, rearranged the furniture and PUT UP CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, including the tree! I couldn't believe it. It's not even Thanksgiving! But, it did make me smile when I pulled up into the driveway.
Of course, he's also procrastinating taking care of the leaves... but that's another story.
I didn't take enough food with me to work. Partly because my cottage cheese I brought had turned and I had to dump it, and partly because I just didn't gage it right. I ate yogurt for breakfast - however, I'm used to eating something with more substance for breakfast - so I got hungry mid-morning... had a cheese stick. For lunch (since the cottage cheese was bad), I went to the cafeteria and the mixed veggies looked good - so I got them. No protein. I'm an idiot. But, like and learn. TODAY I am PREPARED!
Hi Katie!
I was wondering how your first day back went. Don't beat yourself up over the veggies, they were a good choice, considering all the other nasty cafeteria stuff you could've ingested! It is a continual learning process. Like me learning now that just one piece of SF candy is enough to produce noises in my body that no one should ever hear . Thank goodness I have nearly 90 minutes before I have to go back to work
Wow and kudos to Dale! That's so awesome I'm really surprised at the number of Christmas decorations I've seen already. I started seeing them last weekend in fact!
Keep up the awesome work!! Have a great day!
Cathy
I know! And, I honestly did ENJOY the veggies, so that's a good thing! I'm finally able to eat salads, which is a blessing - I was really craving them! Really, SF candy does that to you??? WOW!!! I've tried a couple pieces of Russel Stovers here and there and haven't had any trouble - but I'm not much of a sweets person - my downfall is the chips - salty stuff!!!
Have a terrific day!!! Katie
HELLO there GIRLS;;so glad to see your smiling faces!! Geesshh I wish my husband would put up the tress, we do two and our whole house is Christmas. Actualy decorating our home is like a three day marathon event. Only problem is Victor is having Knee surgery Dec 1st so we better get busy huh if I don't want to do it myself And darn it I really wanted to steam clean the carpets before the trees went up guess that will also have to wait to Spring...
I don't worry about the leaves until spring if they are still there after the snow melts than that is rake and burn time for us...We leave in the country so no one will scoff at our yard of leaves....
Take care ladies and have a great Thanksgiving. I DON"T HAVE TO COOK!! Going to husbands relatives though....mus****ch intake...
You guys are so great for my spirit..
Ramona
So good to 'see' you today, Ramona!
I know what you mean about the carpets, however, I think some nice throw-rugs are going to do me just fine for this holiday season! What you can't see won't hurt ya!
I don't have to do any cooking for Thanksgiving either, but I got a Sugar-Free Strawberry Cheesecake-like recipe that I'm going to make - just so I can have a taste of something sweet. We'll be heading over to Jacksonville to my grandma's house - don't know if we'll be going by Beardstown this time or not. That might just do me in!
I have a horrible time eating turkey anyway! It's so dry, the only kind I can usually handle is the Weigh****chers Smart Ones that's in the gravy. Maybe I'll bring my own???? Doubt grandma would be too offended!
