PUBLIC AID - WARNING / PROVIDERS LIST
I got two emails this weekend for the IPA doctors list, before i put that on this I want to warn those of you who have IPA, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND ALL YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW...ESPECIALLY ON YOUR PSYCH EVALUTION. MAKE SURE its done by a PhD or MD and MAKE SURE it says that you are being RELEASED for surgery and that they feel you would be able to handle all the changes that encompass this surgery. My evaluation and Michelles were rejected. We have it taken care of now but Michelle's surgery date was cancelled due to this... Lets all give Michelle a big hug, this was very upsetting news to her yesterday... Its ok she's going to have surgery just not this Friday.......
Dr. Shayani In maywood.... he only does the Lap Band and he requires you to go to one support group meeting then will schedule a consult he moves pretty fast. 708-327-2899
Dr. Oliphant in Urbana he moves slower you have to call his office for a packet fill it out send it back in and you'll hear from them for an appointment in a few months I think he's currently scheduling for January/February. 217-383-3240 RNY only

Dr. Frederick Tiesenga in River Forest. (708) 386-1078 He just started accepting public aid. To get into the consult with him you will have to go to an informational meeting and get a packet. In the packet will be papers for you to fill out. You will need an upper GI, Gallbladder U/S(If you still have it), Psych Eval, Sleep Study (IF NEEDED), nutritionist consult ($75 OOP) You also have to write an essay explaining how YOU think the surgery is and how it is going to go. You have to explain WHY you need the surgery. (This all gets sent to the insurance company) He is now only doing 2 IPA cases a month.
There's a surgeon in Bloomington Indiana that just got Illinois Public Aid providership. His name is Dr. Bradley Ray 812-330-9962 LAP Band Only His people are GREAT!!!!

The Comp clinic is working on getting the Lap band going if anyone is interested in that you need to get into the program and start their 6 month before itinerary. The people who sell the lap bands are waiting for the Comp clinic to have a couple of women in a certain age group and BMI range to watch the Dr's perform the surgery and Than the company will start selloing the lap band intruments to the Comp clinic but not before. My husband and son are waiting for the right women to be found so they can get on with their Lap Bandings....I can tell you they are not very patient...but I can understand the before surgery people being anxious to get it done.
Sorry I rambled thanks again Deb and how ya doin' Cathy!!

I was in the chat room & someone was saying that she got her tummy tuck paid for with medicaid. ??? Have you heard anyone getting approved for that. My doctor is Dr. Fabito in St. Louis & he said that medicaid does not pay for that procedure. I lost my job due to being so ill during my pregnancy & now I don't have insurance. I am desperately in need of a tummy tuck. It is disgusting and I am getting so depressed. If not, do you know how much the tummy tuck would be to pay for it with cash? I do have a new job, where I make pretty good money, but I don't have insurance & can't afford to get it. Perhaps I could start socking away money for a tummy tuck.
