1st period/cravings after surgery
Hi everyone:
I might be different than most people but I get my cravings after my period and not before it. This was probably the shortest cycle I've ever had but the worst in cravings. I have been so good since my surgery and then in one day I feel like I blew it (I know I did not really blow it but I'm upset and at what I ate and more upset that it went down so easy and didn't make me sick) I'm only 6 weeks out and I was able to get down a large chili from Wendys and then I made brownies for the kids and I was able to keep one down with no problem. I din't even really want the damn thing but I was feeling soo ****ty yesterday that I ate it anyway. I get really blah after my cycle so I really need to find something else to do instead of eating when I get like that. I know I can bounce back from yesterday - what I ate yesterday was NOWHERE compared to what I ate in the past on a regular old day, it's just like I said I was surprised at how much I was able to eat and not get sick - also very scared that the brownie got down so easily.
Sherri,
There are going to be times of the month, whatever they are, where you 1) crave bad things and 2) are able to eat more. I dont think anyone really understands #2..but nevertheless....dont beat yourself up too bad. Eating a brownie is not going to make you fat. Eating a brownie every time you walk into the kitchen WILL. Treat yourself occasionally, or you will break. IMHO (except Gina G who has superhuman strength and willpower!!!! argh!)
GEEE I wish my cravings had been for a brownie...NOT ......I craved of all things SALT..the nutrionist told me it was because I needed to drink more water...It was horrible not being able to pass the salt shaker without shaking some on my tongue.. Sounds weird huh? I was so glad when that craving passed that's for sure!!!
