And then there was hair loss....
It's coming out by the handful girls....so, today, since I can't drive anywher....I'm chopping it off....
I haven't had short hair since grade school.
This, will be interesting.
I just can't take watching it fall out. It's REALLY bad.
I'm just going to tell her to do whatever to it. I really don't care at this point. But how short do I go? EEEK! I have VERY curly hair.
YIKES!
You will be fine...it'll grow back...
It's only hair!
These are the things I tell myself *after* I trim my bangs to the point that they are no longer bangs, but little pieces of hair that stick straight out from my forehead, because I decided that I DO know how to cut hair, that my skills have magically improved since the last time I tried..even though I've never been to beauty school...
This usually happens once every 3 years - about the time I forget that I cried myself to sleep when I screwed it up last time!
In any case, short hair is GREAT - you can leave it go for three days and no one will know the difference, because there's not enough of it to get greasy and skanky...
It's the time between short and long that can suck...cuz you can't do ANYTHING with it....
Also, beware, because your hair is so long, the stylist may keep trying to talk you into keeping it. The last time I got my hair cut short, it had grown to the center of my back, and I had the stylist shave the nape of my neck, it was THAT short. (probably a 1/2 inch, all the way around!) Every friggin cut was an argument. (Are you sure? YES, I'm Sure! Ok. Snip. Are you sure?...ARGGGH!) I finally told her to put the back in a ponytail and cut it off above the rubberband, just to get her past the point of no return!!!
Anyway, good luck, I'm sure you'll look great.
Stef is probably in surgery now...make sure you let her know I said "Hi" tomorrow when you visit!
Good luck!
Jennifer

Boy oh boy do I hear yah!!!!!!!
My hair is so thick and long that I usually only go for a haircut once a year. I would always tell her thin it out. Not anymore. My daughters got a scare today when I brushed my hair and it came out. I plug up the bathtub the bathroom sink. There is hair in the food. I know it's just hair, but when you're losing weight and still trying to look good, it becomes the one thing that you can always fix.
More protein. More protein.

Been there done that, boy do I hear ya. My hair started falling out at about 2 months PO, sooner than most people. But, I am affected by anesthsia that way it has happened to me in the past. My hair stylist and I started seeing it start to come back in at about my 1 yr anniversary. Now I am at 18 months PO and I think that it is just about all the way back to normal. I have very wavy and curly hair also and I would say that it got curlier than pre op. But, curlier in a good way. I never liked my hair when it was short and wavy. I have had my stylist experiment with some new styles for me and I have let her play around with the color now that my hair is much healthier. So you have something to look forward to when you stop loosing your hair. BUT, I caution you to not do any color on your hair at this point you will just damage it further. Get some deep conditioning treatments in the next few months, that will help keep it healthy. Christine
