anyone have humana premeire hmo?

i am just getting started with my bariatric visits i had my first visit and now she is ordering my test i wanted to know how fast you guys were approved?

We have Humana HMO. We were sent to Dr. Vitello in Chicago, based on the referral, for the consult. Once the PCP sent in the info, it was very quick. Three days, I think. We started with the PCP though, and then went with the one that he said would be approved by the HMO.

thankyou for responding my pcp is not handeling me ,an internist is that i asked for a referral for she is doing everything ,so does it depend on him also? i have a referal to see her and she said she will take care of everything else

If your internist is in the same medical group, then it is likely that the internist will handle the referral for you, and I would imagine that it is fine for the internist to do it even if she is not in the same medical group, although I'm not sure. Sometimes HMOs get really hincky about referrals. I do know that our referral was very quick, and that the HMOs seem to drift toward this dr. at least in this area. Good luck. Jennifer
