Hi there - 16 days to go!

Getting nervous and excited - I'm scheduled for lap band surgery on the 22nd of November. I live in Highland Park and am having my surgery at Swedish Covenant. I would enjoy getting to know people in my area who are going through the same thing. My sister had RNY almost 6 months ago and is doing great. She's lost 85 lbs so far! It's our goal to be a team on the Amazing Race when we are both at comfortable weights. Hope they are still on TV then! I'd like to find someone near me who would like a walking partner on occasssion. Seems if I'm talking enough, I forget I'm exercising. Oh of course my muscles remind me the next day! Cat

Cat, I'm an RNY-er, but our post op journeys are still very alike I wanted to wish you the best of luck on what is sure to be the wildest roller coaster ride of your life!! Get ready for lots of great changes Keep us posted!!

Hi Cat good luck on your journey, I'm having the RNY but I initially wanted the Lap Band. I am not a candidate due to some existing problems but the RNY will take care of those so its all going to work out. There is a Lap Band board just click on communities its in one of the drop downs there. I'm so excited for you!! Make sure you keep us all updated on your progress!!! Debby

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think this board/site is a wonderful tool for moving into a healthier lifestyle. I am finding wonderful advice and motivating words. I'm so glad LivLite (the group my doc practices under) told me about it. Cat
