Self Paying

I am at my last resort, I have tried everything in the world except surgery, and failed! I do not have health insurance at this time but I do have a portion of the costs. Is there any programs, or dr's accepting payment plans to help me? Thanks for ANY advice

I can completely understand where you are at now. I made up my mind after I had decided to have surgery that I was going to have it no matter what. Thank god it did not come to that and my insurance paid for it. If you are thinking about self pay I can tell you that my surgery cost about 30,000.00 from start to finish (lap-band). That price included all the pre- op testing and blood work. This is what my insurance was billed but I'm almost positive that it would be cheaper with self pay. It seems like hospitals tend to knock some off if you are self-pay. I had my surgery at OSF- Peoria through dr Rossi at Peoria Surgical group. I think at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria they also will work with you about self pay. It seems like at my pre-op class they said that a lap band would cost about 15,000.00 there. It wouldn't hurt to call them- i think Stu is porbably the person you would like to talk to. Hope this info helps!!!! Julie

umm.. no. The lady asked a question. I happen to know that my surgical group offers what she asked for. There's a policy against answering questions now? geez, you and Lori need to lighten up on your pseudo-moderator duties. Do you work for OH?? If you've got a problem with something I post about my surgeon's office -- or ANYTHING -- you should report it to the OH team and let them make the call. I know you love me, Nancy and I love you right back, but I already have a mom, I don't need a babysitter and I doubt anything I say requires a censor. Stef

Hey There! Wish Center offers Self Pay too. Can *I* get paid for saying that? You know I love you all.... And Stef surely does NOT work for them. She has a WONDERFUL job and makes MILLIONS. (selling pens and pencils) Ya know, this place is becoming like the main board....what happened?

hey, people are asking for help in finding services,Gee i'd rather go to a surgeon,clinic where i know people have had a good experience. I think that your comment was a bit.....rude. I read it several times to see if I took it the wrong way, and I don't think so. I think that this website is a blessing to people looking for answers, and I hope it stays that way.
