Vitamist NEWS!!!
Huh..weird..I might be wrong here...but b12 is water soluable...which means basically that you pee out what your body doesnt use. It doesnt stick around in your blood stream. You might be taking 2000 of b12...but that doesnt mean your level stays at 2000. Anyway, b12 deficiencies can take months and even YEARS to pop up...deficiencies dont usually show up in your first 6mos bloodwork, unless they were there before surgery as well
Hm...I dont see it that way at all I think its great you believe in a product. I just think it's important that new post ops and those looking into surgery be well-informed, which means no mis-information. I guess its great that your b12 levels are twice what is normal.....I dont think too much b12 can really hurt you since you pee it out. Unlike too much Vit. C etc which can build up and actually be harmful. Besides, I think its important for pre and post ops to know that you can meet your recommended daily amt of b12 with plain old sublingual b12 from GNC...and I dont even work there;)
Well, just an FYI, I don't "work" for them. I don't get a salary.
I thought that pre/post ops would like to see the alternatives. Some can't stand the sublinguals. Just like they can't stand the shots or that nasty crap that goes up your nose. (EW IMO)
I wasn't giving any misinformation. I have the paper right here stating
B12 >2000
Even with your sublingual, you won't get the same amount of absorbtion as you do with the spray.
My B12 deficiency must have been pre-op also. (I know this now) It was great to find something that fixed that pretty immediately. I doubt I'm the only person in the world that had a B12 deficiency pre-op. I'm also glad that I was able to remedy the situation fairly quickly with 8 sprays a day.
Youre right....it is good for people to know about the alternatives to taking a med they dont like. If you find something you like, youre more likely to take it regularly As far as a deficiency, you learn really fast when it does show up post-op to notice it before it becomes a problem. Luckily, its corrected easily by just taking b12 I notice if I forget mine, I get 'cloudy', forgetful and tired. I usually take extra because you do pee it out if its unused...so it wont hurt you As far as absorption, youre probably right too..since youre spraying into a muccous membrane. However for me, its a lot easier to pop the 3 cherry teeny tabs under my tongue and vaccum or something than to have to think about 8 sprays a day. But to each his own, and you definitely have to find what works for YOU
Looks like youre doing a great job Keep it up!
