BC/BS PPO of Illinois, anyone get approvals on 1st try?
Hi, you may want to read my profile. Basically they set the standards on april 9th, that have loopholes. We were told that they hope you are successful in the 12 mos so that your co-morbidities get better and you don't need surgery by the Appeals dept director. I sent records covering from 1999 through now and they still say I don't meet the criteria. I have an insurance lawyer now who says I DO meet the criteria so we are battling (not to mention I should not be appealing against the april ninth policy as I started going for approval on March 3rd and was denied originally in March. I just think you should be prepared for a fight...there are support groups out here for people who do have this insurance. Do your research and document EVERYTHING. Even if you do have to fight...eventually you will win! Let me know if you need any help as I have lots of experience with this company now.
