5 weeks out want to exercise
I havent had the surgery yet,but i know everyones experiences are diffrent. I think the best and safe way to know if your ready to excerise is to ask your doctor.Since your feeling great he might agree and start you off with some light exercises,or you could start on some light exerises yourself and if you start feeling bad then you know your not ready.. I hope i helped alittle, and congrates on your up coming loses in weight.Welcome to the loseing side....
I was told to get my butt out of the house and exercise at my 2 wk po apt. I did some walking up and down the side walk near my house. I was told to only go as far as I could and still be able to get back home. I graduated over the course of time in a few weeks to be able to walk a 1/2 mile from home and be able to turn around and make it home. By the time I was about 6-7 weeks po I was walking about 2 miles. Hope this helps. Just make sure you ask your doctor what limitations that he/she has for you.
I had open RNY and at 5 weeks out after my stitches had fallen out, I was given the ok to do water aerobics and I started doing that three times per week 45 minutes each session. I was already walking. At 6 weeks I was given the OK to do treadmill bike walk etc I think at 8 weeks I started circuit training with low weight limits and built up from there. Check and see what your surgeon says about the activity level etc.
