Support group central-ish IL?

Hi guys! My 'regular' support group already met this month, and I missed it at the begining of Oct. I was hoping that I could get some info on some other group(s). I think that multiple ones at this point could really help me - I think I need some intervention and support! I'm feeling really cooped up in the house, a little lonely being with the kids all the time, and need some love!

Would it help if we did something one night like a chat room group online? Maybe we could choose a topic and have a discussion of our own? One of us could volunteer to be the group leader.. do a little research.. maybe recommend we all read a certain article or something.. and then get together and discuss it? maybe not even related to WLS -- maybe we can do it like a book club? What do you guys think?

Ya know, I had created a Yahoo! group for surgery date reminders and such. There is the chat feature on there. If everyone joins, we can always go there to chat and check if someone is there. There is also a place for files (articles like you mentioned) amosillinois I think is the name of the group. I've been so busy I haven't been updating (SORRY)

shouldn't you be in PHOENIX?? and you were looking for things to do.. Most of the really cool stuff is out of town a bit.. in town, if you like architecture, go to ASU and see Grady Gammage (looks like a big pink birthday cake -- designed by Frank Lloyd Wright).. also the state capitol is pretty cool. If you could tell me what part of town you're staying in, I could help you a little better. (the hotel address would be sufficient)

ooohh.. okay.. you're kinda close to ASU.. but you'd need to cab it or rent a car *unless the hotel has tours* I'm thinkin.. for the amount of off time you'll have.. pack some shorts and a t-shirt and spend some time at the pool. It'll be gorgeous out. Take pictures of the cacti -- some might even be blooming (stuff blooms year-round there..). awww.. you're going to my hometown!!

Hi Katie, There is a meeting tonight in Decatur at 7:00 at the Shore Building(Last Building) the address is 2122N. 27th St. All I know is it is for people who have had the surgery, or who are thinking about having the surgery. I haven't had the surgery, so I am just going there to see what they are like, and to get some information. Hope that helps. *~Kerri~*
