Post-Op 1 week question
Well, it's been one week and I've graduated to 'full liquids'!!
Any ideas, suggestions, tips or recommendations from the group out there?
I'm making drinks from the recipies provided by Barix and all I'm getting is a big glass of foam with some liquid at the bottom. Is that the way it is? Just wanting to know what my options are. Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike,
Congrats on your "graduation"!!!
I recommend soup and sugar-free popsicles ...
Even though the SF popsicles are frozen and are kinda like eating, they definitely turn to liquid before you swallow ...
I mixed protein drinks in a blender after "sno-coning" my ice ... and added sugar-free jello sometimes to make it thicker ...
Other than that, I don't have any suggestions ...
Best of luck to you!
Nancy
Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your surgery and your new step into 'full liquids'!!
Soups are great, I love the ff 'cream of' soups and tomato (watch out it bothers some people). I had the same issue with protein drinks foaming up. I became totally averse to them for a while just because of the smell! Not such a big deal at 1 week post though. I found a great premixed protein drink from Susan Maria's website. Extreme smoothies come in chocolate and vanilla and praline or something like that. They're not bad as far as protein drinks go. Some of the powdered proteins do need to be mixed in a blender to help them get fully integrated (for lack of a better description lol). Best of luck to you!
