Insurance Help

I do not have insurance right now, and I am trying to get some. I had Blue Cross and Blue shield send me some info. But, they will not cover someone who is obese. Does anyone know of any other insurance company's I could try? I live in Illinois. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Kerry: What's really sad is that no matter what insurance you might find they all will have a one year pre-existing condition clause...Anything pertaining to your obesity wouldn't probably be covered for the first year. There are also alot of insurance companies that will not insure obese people, I guess they figure we would cost them too much money huh? Well sorry for the bad news but I am sure there is one out there somewhere that would insure you but I am almost positive it will be at a much higher premium rate. Ramona

Hi Kerri, Just a FYI...I was approved a couple months ago with BCBS of Illinois. All insurances have certain rules or guidelines. I think after the first of the year, alot of the insurance companies are going to stop approving so many of these surgeries. Keep your head up!

Try Humana One...they dont cover obesity but they do cover morbid obesity. Good Luck. -Kate
