Am I doing the right thing??

My insurance denied my surgery because I haven't been on a medially supervised diet for a 12-month period with the last 2 years. As such, I have decided to finance my surgery. I feel I don't want to waste another year of my life but I also want to make sure I am not making a hasty decision. Anyone with thoughts about financing WLS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Liz.

Wanted to add... I am tentatively scheduled to have surgery on October 25th since I am financing it myself. Liz

It's really up to you what you decide to do, but I think of it like this. If you don't finanace your surgery and wait the year to be under a supervised diet plan think of all the things you could buy to celebrate your new life. Either way I wish you the best of luck.

When people say this about financing...I have to say: If you can afford it...Good For You! If you really can't and are pushing it... Will your insurance being paying for your 12 months of medically supervised weight loss? If so, what do you have to lose? Weight? If nothing else, you will get yourself even MORE prepared to be eating properly post-op. So if you can do this and you really think it is something you have to do NOW...we are all here supporting you...if not...we're still here!
