4 Weeks Post Op....
I'm here I'm here...where's the
LOL
Sometimes I wish I could have a beer. I tell ya!
This has definately been an interesting 4 weeks. I'm fighting the urge to go through the "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"s. I know it's normal but my head knows that it is for the best.
I have my FLO again. I had it for over TWO WEEKS after surgery and now it's back. It's making me feel NOT SO FRIENDLY. LOL
I'm having some skin issues already. My lower abdomen is starting to sag and well....there is some rubbin goin on that is NOT enjoyable.
I'm having a really hard time getting my walks in every day. I just don't feel like doing anything. For those of you with kids, you won't understand. But going out for a walk isn't just popping on my shoes and going on my way. Going out means getting myself AND Mo up and ready. Getting her bike Or the stroller. If it's the bike then I can't keep a steady pace. If it's the stroller then she's constantly talking and asking questions. It's just a big pain and I just don't feel like irritating myself.
No, I can't do it when my husband is home. that is a whole other issue.
So right now I'm struggling with my need to get out and move and my ability to accomplish that.
I'm not doing very well nutritionally either. I am getting at least ONE chewable vitamin from Optifast a day. Sometimes I'll remember another vitaball but that isn't too often. I have B12 from Vitamist. I am very happy with that. I'm doing Calcium from Bariatric Advantage. (YUM)
I just am doing really bad with protein and getting my meals in. I just don't have the $$ right now to get what I need. So instead I'm just picking at what we have until friday when I can get to the store.
I have to get back on track. It's too early to be messing up. But ya gotta stumble to get back up. And that's what I'm gonna do!
So that is where I am...4 Weeks Out.

Congrads on the job well done! I too had my surgery 31 AUG!! I also can not get Auntie FLo to go away for anything. I had my cycle before my surgery, and ever since. I had a two day break and swore I was dreaming... I am having a lot of the same problems you are, like with getting the vitamins in and the daily walking. Keep your chin up though, WE WILL NOT FAIL! lol Good luck!
im 3 weeks post op, and I have a hard time with protein. I cant stand any of the powders, so my meals are protein first, tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, etc.
I bought powdered skim milk that I sprinkle into the appropriate foods for the extra protein.
I was forgetting to take my multi vitamins too, so now I set them on the counter in a medicine cup so I see them, and I havent forgotten to take them since.
As far as walking, I try as much as I can. My boyfriend is into walking so that really helps.
I know your *somewhere* in Illinois, but if your anywhere near Midway airport, I'd be happy to walk on over and take a walk with you.
i had a problem with protein until i began mixing it in everything i ate instead of trying it alone, i mixed it in my yogurt, my sherbert,my cream of wheat, my oatmeal, i ate it in everything until i could tolerate more options,,, sounds gross, but getting it down was much easier and i had wayyyyyy more energy... lots of luck, try being creative with it, you will be suprised how many things you can stir it (protein powder) in with.... viola canton
