ZOO Stuff!

OK, well, I am going over all this stuff for the zoo and HOLY MOLY is it expensive! We're looking at $40 per person PLUS private dining space fees.... What about a picnic????? Anyone interested in a Bring Your Own Food kinda thing? It'll cut down on the cost SIGNIFICANTLY, I won't have to worry about who can eat what when... You can bring coolers and anything into the zoo. Would this make you more likely to come, less likely, doesn't matter? Or should I look into an outside restaurant and then we have to drive over to the zoo???? I can also purchase group tickets then and that will cut down on the cost too. IDEAS????

I have an idea.. let's not center it around a meal at all! Let's meet at the zoo in the late afternoon while it's still light out.. go see the different exhibits.. then see the lights together.. maybe we can do a secret santa, rather than bring food?? Just a thought..

Ya know...I was thinking about the beginning. I just really don't know how to plan an event without food! LMAO It would make it SO MUCH EASIER for me. LOL Anyone else????

Im assuming your talking about Brookfield. Lincoln Park Zoo is free. Except for parking. Bring a few coolers with food and drink, and your set.

actually.. I would LOVE to do this at Lincoln Park Zoo.. but getting into the area (particularly for the out of towners) might be easier to get to Brookfield.. it's just easier to navigate and parking is not such a headache.. Stef

They have parking, if you get there early enough. My b/f and I usually find street parking by the farm in the zoo area when we go. Its such a pretty area even if you do have to walk a little.

Oh I know.. I usually take the train and the bus, myself.. that way I don't have to deal with parking at all.. that doesn't bother me. I'm thinking of the people who are mostly out in the suburbs and beyond who wanted to go.. it would be easier for them to navigate in and out of Brookfield and NOT have to deal with city traffic (particularly LP traffic) and parking availability.. At least for a first event.. I think it would be easier for most of the people around here to do it out there... THEN we can coax them into the city.. (I know how those suburbanites feel about going into the city)..
