Hi,
I have BC/BS of Illinois. I am curious if any one has had any major problems with them. I have looked into it and they say that they require a 12 month medically supervised diet. Have any of you had this problem.
I am 34 and have been heavy since I was 12. I also have diabeties and I dont want to wait a year. If I have to wait a yeay, by then they may change there minds and no longer cover the surgery.
I would just like to hear from people who have them and any problems you might have had.
Thanks,
Mike

Trica,
Thanks for your reply. I have read most of your profile but you dont mention doing a 12 month supervised diet. I have been seeing my PCP for 7 years and I have the documentation to prove that I have had no luck loosing the weight since I have been seeing her. Do you think that will be enough?
Mike
Hi Mike,
I did not have any trouble with gettting approved, although I think I may have slipped through the cracks. I got approved on my first try. Also, I met a nice lady on obesityhelp, and she is having trouble with Bariax Clinic submmiting to her insurance without out the 12 months of dieting. I am not sure what happened in my case vs. hers. We both have BCBS of Illinois as our insurance. Please feel free to e-mail me or check out my profile.

Thanks for your reply.
I read some of the requirements for the 12 month supervised diet and due to being Diabetic I think they will let me have it. I am unable to go on the Liquid diet and the diet drug that they want you to do.
I hope this works out.
Any other advise would be great.
