Hello everyone, I found a Dr. Maillefer in Dekalb. First appointment Sept 30,2004 ALRIGHT. I'm on the right path.

Hi Ruth Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! This guy takes a medical card? and do you know how many he has done??? I'm asking because I have begun the process of going over 2 hours away from me up by Chicago. If this guy has done many, and will take a medical card I would like to condiser him!!!!! Would be MUCH closer to me. Blessings, and Good luck! Katie

I read some of the people profile that he did, but I don't know how many people he done. Yes they take the medical card.

I bet your never thought you would be a new member on obesity help and all ready helping another member I called Doctor Maillefer ( may fair) in Dekalb and have my first consult appointment on Oct 4 at 3 PM...THANK YOU. I however am a little nervous. HE has only done 12 gastric bypasses, and he only does open. The person that sets up the appointments does not know if he does distal or proximal, but she said I can ask that at the consult, and she will ask too, poor lady was a bit embarrassed that she couldn't answer that. She is soooooo nice and sweet though!!! Though he has only done 12 bypasses, he has a long history of colon surgeries and such. Also the medical card does pay for the psych eval and dietician there, and I am excited because I had not been able to find any in my area that takes the medical card Whoooooo hoooooo!!!! So I will go to the consult and hope for the best. Please let me know how your's went. Blessings, Katie
