Got my drains out and lost ::drum roll::

I feel SO much better! Oh the relief of not having 2 tenticles getting in the way. Yes, I said teNticles. They put me on that fancy-measure-everything-scale and I was floored to see the #of pounds it displayed!! She even had me go on another scale to proove that the first one wasnt broken. Wow. I lost 15lbs! I had an emotional moment driving back home from the docs. I think reality has sunk in that I really did it. I go back next week for my 2 week checkup. Hey Rat Girl I had my surgery the day after you and I got the first drain out on Mon. 13th. Did you have open? Like you I had breathing problems as well. So they don't take the other drain out 3 weeks later? Did it hurt? I have 46 staples. I'm not looking forward to anymore pain. Glad to see you're losing Laura

Fortunately they were able to do it lap. I had 2 drains because they removed my gall bladder too, he said it was diseased. While he took out my staples in the hospital he said see me on Thursday, I actually questioned him because I thought that was too soon. It felt like there was an alien in my belly when the nurse was pulling out the tubes, not really pain, just funny feeling. What did hurt was the stitches, my skin was kinda growing over so she had to dig. Ouch! Pain in general was non-existant, I stopped pushing the "button" in the hospital after a day and a half, I didnt like that it put me to sleep and I never filled the Rx, knock on wood, I've been lucky. Dont you live by Midway? I may have remebered you mentioning that, or it could be someone else... I live by Midway too.

Yep, I'm the one by Midway. I had mine done @ MacNeal in Berwyn. I had my gallbladder out in 95'. I think Oct. 1st is a little long to wait for the second tube and staples to come out, don't you? I kept pushing my button. It was scheduled for every 10 minutes, then every 8. As far as protein goes, I also drink Boost because that was the pre-op diet I was on. I drink 2oz. every 2 hours. I too was concerned about the high sugar but the doc said it would be ok. I ordered 9-6pks online. Very Cheap!!!!!! I also bought the pudding...didn't really care for it. Take care.....keep on losin!
