Packets Sent to Sugeon
Yeah I'm pretty sure.
We ran through and KNOW it is no spyware, no virus.
Changed the power supply-no luck.
Done recover CD on puter, no luck.
It just continues to restart itself over and over again.
Sometimes more than other times
WHAAAAAAA driving me MAD....
I had the same thing happen to it right after I got the computer 3 years ago, only then I didn't have to pay for the mother board to be replaced cuz it was under warranty.
I wi**** was a setting or something, but I've gone through everything I can think of, and am pretty sure it must be the mother board

I know this is going to seem kind of like a "dumb question" (and I only ask it because I had a similar problem with an older computer and this was what ended up fixing it)
Is your "on/off" button broken?
Sometimes, it gets partially wedged under the CPU cover and the slightest movement or sometimes just arbitrary breeze from a passing child or pet will cause it to reset.. sometimes the button just needs to be replaced (it's a cheap little part).
Just a thought -- Good luck!
Stef
Hey any questions with computers are NOT dumb questions lol, I think they have "minds" of their own.
Actually we do have a computer with the button problem, unfortunately that is not the problem with this computer. It's truly not that old.
3 years.
It is 1.3 GHZ processor
512 MB RAM
80GB hard drive
Windows XP operating system.
This is why I am really upset that it is messed up, I will NEVER get a compaq presario again, couldn't pay me to. Next time I will have a computer store build it for me or something.
I have had NOTHING but problems with this computer.
It drives me crazy, the quality you don't get anymore!
Blessings, and Thanks again,
Katie
sad thing is, YES I have two more computers, BUT I cannot use them, my kids' school curriculum is exclusively done on those older 600 and 400 mhz computers, with two kids per computer they are pretty much tied up anyhow. And I use my computer to sell on e-bay get information need, it has been valuable on finding a bariatric surgeon
and the fear that I soon won't have a computer at all
I AM waiting on an IMRF refund of $550 but I fear this isn't gonna be enough to replace my computer....I did look up my motherboard and somehow doesn't seem like my computer is worth $282 just to replace a mother boards...sheesh after all the firt one only lasted a month and the next one only two years........especially when there are quite a bit older computers still functioning with no problem!!!!!! sorry venting here!
