HOLIDAY Party Final Ideas....
OK...judging by the list here is what I think should occur. If it's ok with ya'll this is what we'll do.
Saturday, December 4th.
I think we should have early dinner at the restaurant Bocaditos. They have this:
Bocaditos
Capacity: 40 (u-shaped)

Brookfield Zoo's full-service restaurant features beautiful hardwood floors, hand-carved South American artwork, and stunning balcony views. Available for receptions, dinners, dances, and meetings.
I don't think we'll get more than 40 people. It's a great table that we can all talk and have plenty of room to get our grub on.
I figure if we get there at 2 or 3 we will have plenty of time to eat, drink, and chat then we can head out to the festivities.
Festivities meaning the festival of lights.
Cost is going to be Parking to the zoo: $8 (will find out about group rates)
Entrance to the zoo: (Varies depending on how many adults/kids/seniors(Lori&Debby) LOL I will also find out about group rates)
So I really need to find out how many would SERIOUSLY be interested in coming. Then I can give a number and get a discount!
I was going to post on the main board but I'm afraid they'll rip me a new one because we celebrate holidays.
I also want to do a gift exchange if anyone would be interested. Maybe White Elephant?
Right now we just need to get a number and I can find out about cost.
Let me know folks.
where is brookfield at again?? I used to go up there all the time when I was a kid, just dont remember exactly where. I know its up by Chicago that way. I used to live in New Lenox.
I'd love to go, I'll have to see if hubby wants to take a road trip. I hate to travel all that way by myself with 3 kids. But I will see. I'd love to meet everyone.
I'll pencil you in! Not sure where I'll be in my "process" but I would go nonetheless..
Brookfield Zoo is in the west Suburbs -- you can get to it from I-290.. there are signs to it from the expressway, I think. You can also get to it from SR38 (Roosevelt Road). It's actually IN the town of Brookfield which is kind of near Berwyn and Riverside.
I hope that helps!
Well.. as anyone who has ever come to Chicago from elsewhere knows, NEVER ASK A CHICAGOAN FOR DIRECTIONS!!
They all think everyone else knows that the street they know as "roosevelt" or "kingery hwy" becomes something else in other towns and should automatically know what they mean when they say that name.. even when mapquest and randmcnally.com don't have any idea what we're asking for..
yeah. LOL
