No need to explain....
Today @ the hospital, the nurse that was doing my vitals and taking my info wanted to know why I was having the colonoscopy. I told it was part of pre-op testing before my surgery. She asked what kind of surgery I was having so I told her. You should have seen the look on her face. The facial reaction was rude but the verbal response was even more ignorant! "Why are you having "that" done? Why can't you just change your eating habits and excercise more?" I wanted to put that BP cuff around her neck and keep pumping! 3x today I was asked why I'm having it done. They all told me I'm to tiny for the procedure. Why should I have to explain myself or my decisions to them, but my mother always told me if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Silence is golden.
They pissed me off!!!!

Hi Laura ~
I experienced the same response from two nurses at Loyola University Medical Center. I sent a letter to to Chairman of the hospital, (for whatever good that's going to do).
One nurse is named Gerri and I don't know the others name.... I think the problem is some people wants the surgery but is afraid to follow through, therefore they ask questions then act as if it's a crime to make a healthy choice.
Go ahead and have your surgery and feel good about yourself.
Good luck & may GOD be with you!
