I'm a wreck!!!!!!!

I was starting to get nervous about surgery but now I'm really sick My dr just called to say because I have chronic low hemoglobin and a family history of colon cancer he wants to do a colonoscopy before my surgery next Thursday. Not a pleasant test I'm so scared. The nurse said they put you in a "twilight" sleep and have really no recollection of the test. Has anyone had this test before? Pain/discomfort? I'm in tears and so upset!!!!! Laura

Laura, Don't worry about it. I have had this before and it really isn't a big deal. You will be asleep and not know what is going on. I woke up at the end of mine (no pun) and it wasn't a big deal. You'll be fine. No Pain or discomfort. It's your head messing with ya!

I'll second that EW LOL But it is all temporary and for a greater good. Trust me...it's better to go and do this now than later. Take care of yourself. That is what is most important.

Laura, I had this test done and the worst part is the prep. I had to drink phosph-soda. I took it in two doses. My doc told me to drink it with some ginger ale now mind you it was only 2 4ou doses and I probably only got about 1 ou of the first dose. I had to figure some way to get the whole 2nd dose? My niece had just finished making some pinto beans and she didn't put any salt in them so I just put it in the juice In drank and got it all in no problem Sooooo if you can eat something like that it would probably be your best bet!! As for the actual procedure- you won't remember a thing. Cross my heart!! Good luck Denna
