Sick of being in pain

I have been in pain with my hernia since 2pm, its so bad its all i can do to sit here and type this... I keep thinking i should go to the Er but then the pain feels as if its easing but then bam! i'm doubled over again... I was told the surgery will stop this and if thats all this surgery does for me I will be very thankful! I puked for the 6th time and now the pain is so intense I could probably stab myself in the leg and not feel it! The puking really isnt to bad its the peeing my pants as I puke that I dont like... Debby, Not sure what kind of hernia you had, but I had an inguinal (groin) hernia fixed Jan 2003 and it took 4 months before the pain subsided.... and to this DAY I still have no feeling in the lower abdomen where the surgery was and part of my upper thigh.... I PRAY that you don't have the same hard times that I had. When I complained of the numbness in the hospital before I was released they said it was normal... when I complained of the pain and numbness for WEEKS and months afterward they said it was normal... when I was still complaining of the numbness once the pain subsided, they said it was normal... a year later and the surgeon finally admitted that the numbness is probably permanent. If the pain doesn't get better, call the doc... sometimes postop because you struggle to get out of bed and chairs, that you can actually get an incisional hernia.... Its a hiatal hernia actually a sliding one which I am not sure what the relevence of that is. It gets irritated and when the pain starts it could take forever if I dont go to the er for a GI coctail and they give me something else which makes me terribly loopy. The surgery will fix it and my GERD, which is so bad I take Previcid 2x a day, tagament at night, and still use tums off and on during the day. I am feeling a bit better the pain is there but not intense anymore. Thanks for asking!

When are you going to have your hernia repaired? Is it going to be long and where is your hernia? Just curious. Tricia

Its a hiatal hernia in my stomach... argh! it will be repaired at the time of surgery, so the sooner the better...

Ay Yi Yi!!! That SUCKS that you are feeling so awful. I am SO SORRY! I am having binder issues. I mean, I have been since they put the f*cker on but right now, I really wish I had better posture. All the throwing up is just making the hernia hurt worse. Is there anything that may help you? I know that when I was nauseated while pregnant I would such on Tamarindo seeds and it would kill the feeling. Just don't swallow!!!! I hope you get some relief one way or another. If Miss Michelle would get her ass in gear...you could already be at that informational meeting. I haven't heard from Joy. I don't want to call and bother her. I'm hoping she is home already and just not up to being on the computer yet. I do have her home number. I think I'll call her later this afternoon.
