Suburban Surgical Care is the BEST
I just had my 12 month follow-up (a month late - but better late than never) with the nurse from Dr Guske's office at Suburban Surgical Care and I am so pleased with them.....they have a fancy new Tanita scale that calculates your metabolic rate, body fat percentage, hydration level, and more! Plus, they have a machine that is similar to the Decascan that measures your bone density! Its amazing to me how high tech they are!
I've been trying to find somewhere to take a metabolic measurement and I've been pushing my primary care doctor for a decascan....and it turns out that the office of the wonderful Dr. Guske had everything waiting for me yesterday.
I had Drs. Kane Sr. and Jr. They changed horses in mid-stream due to Srs. semi-retirement but the office failed to tell me.
I had a lot of problems with the office as well. I learned not to trust what anyone told me, and double checked everything I was told.
I also had seen a post from someone who said they changed surgeron on her at the last minute and after her son complained, they dropped her all together and none of the surgeons would do her wls. (To avoid liability, I can't really confirm that this last part is true, but it is what I have heard).
I am satisfied with my surgeon and surgery and after care treatment, except for the time I waited an hour and a half for my appointment and the fact that over my last 2 visists my chart had not been updated.
As for their fancy scale, I thought that was neat also because I got a printout, but was only able to use it once as the room is always busy.
Jenn,
You are right Dr. Frantzides is simply the best!!! He has great location, he is very charming and extremely knowledgeable. I feel so safe in his hands...
Cherylaki,
You can got to Bally's and have your resting metabolic rate tested for $14 bucks (body gem, highly reliable)... Tanita scales are not *always* reliable. I paid +200 for mine and the fat percentage always fluctuates (within minutes of weighing).
In regards to a dexascan, my PCP's office has tons of cool thingies, but for solid results, she sends me to the my local hospital (i.e. like the Nuc Med department), so it can be accurately read.
I am glad you had a great time at your annual though...
TTFN,
Rebecca
