I am just wondering....if someone gets sick and the primary doc prescribe medications.....Will my body react to the meds normally...or will my doc have to a special med prescription for bariatric clients?

That is a very good question. I hope someone answers that one. I am having surgery tomorrow and I wonder about stuff like that too. JOy

I'm 13 months out & I've never gotten any special medications. I stay away from time released medications cuz they may not fully absorb. And I stay away from all pain relievers (except good ole Tylenol)....if I need a pain medication, I take it with Prilosec/Prevacid.

HI Tracy: I am one year out and have bronchitis (sp) I have been taking antibiotics. I do have to break them in half just in case they should get stuck. I don't know how they absorb or anything. I know I have not gotten worse. It has been two weeks and I am still sick but my husband and son have had their illness for 5 and 6 weeks taking antibiotics and they are not better either I take Depo Provera for birth control and have had no problems with that either. Gel capsules are not good though...I don't get any relief from those besides their like taking horse tablets they are huge!
