The good, the bad and the ugly...
Otherwise known as my weekend.
For those of you *****ad my post about my friend Karyn, I thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. Unfortunately, she lost her battle Friday morning after suffering several heart attacks in the hospital over night.
I did not find this out until I was on my way to Nashville for school Friday afternoon. Talk about starting off on a bad note. Saturday we took a tour of the main campus and got our ID's and parking tickets. Eating in the cafeteria was an interesting experience. I ate the meat and cheese from some lasagna and some cheese and dressing from the salad bar. (Per my dietician I can't do salads 'till 4 months out.)
Today we had classes all day. Oh My Gosh First was Physiology and Clinical Pathology. Not bad at all. Next was Neuroscience. Neurons, dendrites, axons, afferent and efferent were all terms I've seen before could did I remember anything? Noooooooo! Then our last class was Kinesiology. Talk about wanting to scream! She talked so fast we had to continually stop her to clarify and that "clarification" was more confusing than her initial explanation sometimes! I felt like hiding under my chair! This is going to be TOUGH! I hope I can make it through! For lunch they served pizza and soda ... needless to say I didn't eat which, of course, drew questions galore from my 30 classmates and the 2nd year class. Should've just gotten a piece and sat with it on my plate! I just said it doesn't agree with me. Thankfully after this weekend, we have to bring our own lunches.
Guess that's all for now. Thanks for reading and letting me vent!! Good luck to everyone having surgery soon!

SO sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is a horrbile disease. I do not think there is one person that cancer has not touched their lives in one way or another. Hope the rest of your week is better at school. I would have eaten the cheese off of the pizza at least. At least with taking your lunch you can take healthy choices. I finally found a protein drink that I like and it's pretty good nutrient wise. Dr. Phils shake 26 Gr Protein. 210 calories and 10 sugars. It has a little bit of an aftertaste but it's good. Take care.
