The good, the bad and the volleyball
OK the party was a good time, there were about 100 people there but not all at once, you know how those things go, people wondering in and out all the time. Lets face it though, when you go to a party that consists mostly of eating and drinking every kind of alcohol know to man there's not a lot for a post op to do. I did have a sample of some 100 year old tequila though. SMOOTH baby SMOOTH oh and my obligatory white russian . I left the party around midnight and went and crashed at my friend Mark's house. I made the mistake of leaving my digital camera there and my wife brought it in when she left the party around 2:30am. From the stories I heard I am afraid to look at the pictures! LOL!
The best part, for me anyway, was playing volleyball. I had not played volleyball since 1986, the year I graduated college. I was out there and actually able to hold my own. It was a good feeling. That good feeling turned to frustration and a feeling of isolation that I think some of us post ops can relate to. My wife was watching the volleyball game and had the digital camera with her but she wasn't taking pictures. I mean here I am doing something I have not been able to do in almost 20 fricken years and it didn't even occur to her that it was an important moment in my life and in this journey. Am I being selfish? I was pissed and frustrated to no end. I finally asker her to take some pics. She took 4.
So I went and called my friend who I KNOW would absolutely 100% understand the situation and left a short voice mail. Made me feel better anyway.
So that was my weekend. All in all not a bad time!!
Ok I know that Jenn and Gladys are having surgery on Monday. Just wanted to wish you the best.

Hi Don
I know just what you mean about the picture thing. Here I am doing all these things I haven't been able to do for years (and looking damn cute doing them), and there are no pictures unless I specifically ask dh to take them. I asked him why, and he said "You hate having your picture taken." Well, yeah, 100 pounds ago, but in case you haven't noticed, some changes HAVE been made!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, maybe he is just trying to be considerate. I'll cut him a little slack, but I better hear that shutter start clicking soon, or else.
Glad to hear you had such a good time.
