anyone live near joliet?
hi,
i have been a member of amos since Dec.2000, i live in the Joliet, area and am wondering if there are groups close by, i had my gastric-bypass surgery at Oak Park Hospital by Dr. Nash,,,, i went from a 3x plus to a size 10 or 8 depending on where i buy clothes ,,,,it is still very hard believe i have lost so much weight, now i guess i eat to live ... i started out walking immediately after my surgery, i went from not being able to walk 1/2 a block to walking 3 miles per day, but i have found out that for me to continue to walk 3 miles per day causes me to lose more weight than i want to ,because my body seems to burn the calories faster than i can take them in, i cannot eat most of the foods i use to eat, and seem to be able to tolerate steamed veggies better than any other foods, it also takes about 6 hours for me to digest any meats i eat, so they stay on my stomach and keep me full most of the day, if i eat after 6pm , i began to feel horrible , so i just drink water or protein after 6pm,so i have curtailed my walking, to keep my weight on and am looking to start an alternate type of muscle building exdercise to stay fit,,,anyone else having this experience?.. viola canton
