New here - Have Questions
Hi, Suzan
Dr. Rosen from the Wish Center did my surgery in December 2003, and I can't say enough good things about him. I'm currently down 90 pounds from my pre-op weight, and 119 from my all time high, with about 25 left to go.
I chose RNY over the Lap Band because I felt that it was a better option for me. I was a big sweets eater, and could have found a way around the Lap Band. (Shakes and Malts come to mind...) I need the threat of dumping to keep me on the straight and narrow sometimes, although I have noticed that I no longer have much desire for the sweets. Go Figure.
There are ways to defeat any WLS, and the best we can do is look at how we each eat and which surgery is most appropriate for us. I don't believe that there is any one "right" surgery out there. It is very much individual choice.
Good Luck, and I hope to see you at support group meetings in the future!
