medicaid info

hey everyone, i made few phone calls today to some of the doctors listed and every last one of them told me that the doctors excepts medicaid, BUT the hospital that they are affiliated with doesnt cover the surgery. does any one have any insight, suggestions, referral or information that might me be helpful to me. I trying to at least get my foot in the door.HEELLPPP!!! respond or email me [email protected]

Huh?? I am so confused???? What do you mean the hospital doesn't cover the surgery?

Hi, The University of Chicago as well as Loyola. What I've noticed is when you call these offices and they find out you have Medicaid they arent as willing and helpful. The state only pays the minimum and I read in the Suntimes a few months back that they are considering not covering the surgery after January 2005. My friend and I called the U of C in 2001, she had Blue Cross/Blue Shield I had medicaid. She was given an appt. in 3 weeks, I was given an appt 7 months away. She found out that Dr.s only do so many medicaid patients a month. Sorry I could be of more help.
