Stupid Doctors!

Well, I went to see a Family Practice doctor because my midwife told me that most insurance companies don't consider midwives "DOCTORS" and wouldn't take a letter. So I go see this guy and I was completely uncomfortable. He bothered the heck out of me. I felt like he was undressing me with his eyes. It was awful. Then he tells me that he won't write me a letter. He wants me to diet for 3 more months and come back. If it STILL isn't doing anything then we'll try Medication. What the F? Medication? Since when has medication ever worked that well? Phen Phen? UGH! Sorry...I'm ticked. So I'm goin on what I've got. Please think good thoughts as I'm trying to get things in order. Hi! I agree PCPs are pretty ignorant when it comes to weight loss. Lucky for you, me, and others on medicaid, medicaid does NOT require a referral from your PCP or even a letter for that matter. Alot of the surgeons that accept medicaid don't require one either. Hope things start looking up for you soon! Amanda

Melissa, Sorry to hear your doc is a J-E-R-K! There are alot of doctors out there that aren't terribly understanding. I wish you luck on finding a second opinion! :0 ~Jenn
