As a nurse who has worked with every surgeon in this group, they are the farthest from incompetent. How much did your friend weigh?? How closely did your friend follow post-op instructions. These surgeons are the best, I have seen horrible procedures done. I trust them with my life. This is a tool. Every person's body is different, and also how strictly they follow post-op instructions.

Jeff, In reading their feedback on this site, my friend is not the only one who's had problems with this group. She started at 280, and they told her she couldnt be done lap. No prior surgery or anything...no reason she couldnt be done lap, which was not true. THEY couldnt do her lap, but didnt phrase it that way..Yes I have a big problem with that. Also, she followed her instructions to a tee. But when she started having trouble, they wouldnt see her anymore. As far as I'm concerned, thats their way of keeping their 'rate of complication' low.

Hi Jeff, Sounds like you would be a good source to ask. I am a newbe and wanted to know if you have any thoughts on Northwestern and Dr. Nagle? Thanks, Kathy

My friend had it done at Northwestern. She was very happy. I do not know who did it though. Wish I had more info. Jeff

I started out with this group and it turned into a nightmare for me. They actually dropped me as a patient (1 month from surgery date) when I complained about PJ and Olga. I complained politely and professionally. I had invested 9 months waiting for them to get their act together ( I had insurance approval) and they never did. I wrote a complaint letter at the recommendation of my pulmonolgist and their response was to drop me. So unprofessional. I plan on registering a formal complaint against Dr. Kane Jr. in the near future. P.S. Dr. Frantzides rocks.

I am so sorry that you are having these problems with the group, but I must say, it is nothing like what I went through. I loved them! ! ! I did have surgery with dr. Kane Sr. I went through 2 different insurance co. before weight for life finally got the 3rd to approve it for me. I only waited 11 days from approval to surgery. I am very comfortable with Dr. Kane sr. He always answers all my questions, and I dont have a problem with the staff either. I think there was only 1 time when I thought a return call was taking to long, but then I thought about how many patients they have, and I cant be put first. I had open because I was 432 #'s at surgery, and it is dr. kane sr. procedure to do open on most over 300-350. I had mine done on Nov 24, and am down 108lbs. I hope the rest of your experiences go well from here on out! ! ! ! Cara
