Suburban Support Groups

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of any support groups that meet in the suburbs, specifically the Southwest suburbs. I have been unable to locate any. Thank you for your help, Lisa

I e-mailed you privately about the location of a support group for BTC patients that meets this Thursday. It is in Orland so it is very close to you. I don't know if I will make it to the meeting or not. I know you are not a BTC patient, but I got special privaleages to invite you. Hope to see you there.

The Midwest Bariatric Institute has their meetings on the first Wednesday of every month @ 7pm at the Holiday Inn in Oak Lawn (95th & Pulasi). The first half hour of the meeting is socializing and taking pictures (instant photo for $1.00 - you keep the photo). The next hour consists of a guest speaker (something different every month - i.e. Psychologist, vitamin/protien sellers, plastic surgeon, motivational speakers, etc). The last hour of the meeting consists of small group time. The groups are broken up in 3 sets... 0-3month, 3-6month, 6months and longer. Each group is moderated by someone from the program (surgical nurse, bariatric director, psychologist and/or the program nutrionist). We have a lot of folks who had their surgery at BTC or Rush or the University of Chicago, so feel free to join us. I would love to meet you if you did. I will not be at the June meeting as I will be on vacation and I will miss July as my nephew is getting married that weekend and we are having the rehearsal and dinner on that night.
