I'll be going to the D.M.V. some time next week to take the Driver's Permit Test. Does anyone know home much the Driver's Permit test is? If so do the D.M.V. takes cash as a payment to take the test? How long is the test and how log will I be at the D.M.V. taking the test? Once I pass the Driver's Premit Test will I know the same day? If so, do I get me Driver's Premit License the same day? Is there anything else I should know?

Jason, go to Cyberdriveillinois.com this is SOS for the State of IL. As far as the time to wait at the office is contingent on how many walk-ins they have. Sometimes you are in and out and other times there is a long wait. You cannot predict it. Check on if the office is open on Monday's because some are closed that day. You always know if you pass the same day. Review your Rules of the Road book to see how many questions are on the test.

Thanks again for the info..

I did look their and all it says and what I saw is "Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) – Original or Renewal $50.00", that's to get a learn's Permit (unless that's the fee to take the Driver's Commercial Learn's Permit test, if so it should stated that on the site). If the "Commercial Learn's Permit ($50.00) not the test fee I must be blind or something, if that's not it, can you point to the one under the "Driver's License fees? I'm all new to this, this is my very first time going to take the permit test to get a Learn's Permit. I'm sorry ChristineB if I'm sounding stupid to you, I'm just nervous for the last few weeks going through the Rules of the Road Handbook and going in to take the test (next week).

Look just below motorcycle. $20. That is for a passenger car permit.

Duh! It was in front of me the whole time! Thanks for pointing that out. I know I saw that, but didn't pay attention to it let alone realize that was it. I just learned something new. Thank you ChristineB. Sorry for the run around. I guess I wasn't sure at the time what to look for at the time. Now I know, thanks again.

I hope I wasn't a handful for you.
