Sunday Woll Call
Good Sunday Morning out there in Illinois Land!
I hope all of you are managing to stay cool. It has been HOT out there! It has been an interesting week for me. Starting a week a go this past Thursday. I was called into the directors office and we were asked to stay for 2 additional months. After thinking it over, I agreed. It is more pay than the work at home job and it is ok with them. So a day before my last week was to begin, I commit to staying for 2 more months. My cube is all packed up and mentally I was set to leave, so this is a little strange. Plus changes are happening continuously as departments are being shut down. We are becoming more jacks of all trades. Then I get a letter rehiring me for 2 months and terminating me again in the same letter! Let's just say it will be an interesting 2 months.
As if that wasn't enough to keep my head spinning, we had a cat escape Monday night. The babies broke out of the catio during the night. They made a nice big hole in the side and took a hike! Only Claude, Smokey, Fluffer and Nibbles went on the lamb. They all came back in except for Nibbles. Rick fixed the catio and we could not find Nibbles at all. He has been missing until today when he came back home. Then we could not get him to come to the front door. He kept standing by the catio crying. I sent Claude out to get him but no success. I then sent Smokey out and he was tailing Smokey like he was his shadow and I thought we would get him in but he would not come up onto the porch to come in. Rick finally went out and cut a hole back in the catio and Nibbles was in the house within minutes. He only wanted to come in the way he got out. We have to fix the catio again. Stubborn brat! At least he is safe and sound. He did lose his collar but that can be replaced. He drank water for 6 minutes straight. Also ate a lot so he was thirsty and hungry. We had food and water out. Just glad he is back home. So are the other cats. Smudge was going around the house crying all day without her buddy. And Buffy made Rick go outside and call for Nibbles multiple times each day. All of them were moping and not eating. They missed their buddy.
Welcome to our newest member! So glad you are here.
Everyone stay cool and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Cat Lady
Happy Sunday.
This month is going way to fast.
I am smoking a brisket for dinner tonight. I had it in the smoker since 7:30 a.m. I am hoping it is done by noon. We shall see.I have also got a fresh strawberry pie ready for the frig.
As much as you all know, I love the heat of summer. But, I am so glad that this heat wave has past.
Nancy, I love your cat stories.
Coffee is good, I am finishing my 2nd cup.
I need to go to the nursery too. I have a coupon worth $25 off of a purchase of $50. But I will go during the week.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
