Friday Roll Call
Please be careful today. Heat Index over 100. We sure don't want anyone to get heat stroke.
I have a few errands to run today, then I get to bake a Gooey Butter Cake for tomorrow. This is a St. Louis specialty. Monica is hosting an Americana Party tomorrow night, and you are to bring something from your home area that may not be available where you live. It will be fun.
Hopefully with these temps, the pool will warm up enough for us to use it. Fingers crossed.
Hugs,
Hello everyone
It's Friday and the sun is out...what more could you want. Well I hope it's still nice when I get off work.
I went to get the probiotic the doctor recommended and said...no thank you. $70.00!!! For one month. I'm sorry I know probiotics can be expensive but $70 is just too much. I guess these are really good probiotics (specifically targeted for IBS and colitis) but I think I will have to go with something a little less quality. Do you know what the difference is between the probiotics that need to be refrigerated and the ones that don't? And the ones that do need to be refrigerated...are they always better quality. Should I go for those over the ones on the shelf?
After work I going to Jewel to pick up stuff I forgot yesterday. I hate when I do that. And Walgreens to pick up a RX and argue with them about the discount card for the RX. I don't know why I have to go through this every time I renew the RX. Ugh... They always think the discount card is expired and I always have to show them it doesn't expire till 1/1/2016. Every single time!!! I try to be patient and nice but it's getting harder and harder as each month goes by. I wouldn't worry about it if it was just a little bit of money...but it's $30!!!
Well I have to get back to work. Have a good day all.
Good morning all. It's so hot that I think I heard the devil sigh ;) Anyway, hubby goes back to work today after his two days off. I'm just helping my grandma today and going to get some cleaning done. Today is day three of me reducing sugar. I've cut out sodas and most sugary things (mainly desserts and crap I'll not be able to eat in the hopefully near future). I've had a massive headache and I'm assuming that's why.
I called the office to try to bump my appointment up and there have been no cancellations. I was told to call every Friday and see if anyone cancels. So, as of now my appointment is still September 10th with the surgeon. I was going to go to a support group yesterday but we had far too many things to do around the house. I'm going to go to the next one the 20th. The only bummer is that all of the support groups are nearly an hour away, and with me not driving that makes it tough. Oh well..hope you all stay cool and have a good day!
Yes, I agree with Lisa. I did everything in phases. I cut out soda, I cut out fast food, junk food, most overly processed foods. I did this in phases. I slowly cut things out of my life.
Now in saying that I will occasionally have a bun with my burger if I'm at a cookout. White pasta if we go out some where nice. But I don't buy it or bring it into my house. I will also make cookies or cakes that I will indulge in once in awhile. I stay away from prepackaged stuff. I figure if I have to make it then it's that much more difficult to have it on hand when I want it.
