Monday Roll Call
Happy Monday,
It seems that all of us are busy with our life. That is a good thing.
All I am doing this week is getting ready to go north on Friday. I am not really sure what to take. It is always cooler up in that area, So, I guess I will overpack and be ready for everything.
What are you doing?
Hugs,
Hello everyone
I am sick of all this rain. It's calling for rain almost everyday this week. Ugh. I want to enjoy the outdoors.
I am still sore from Saturday's gardening activities. Note to self..no matter what rent a tiller!!!! LOL!!! I dug up and tilled that soil myself, by hand. It is clay soil and I mixed in some organic soil to loosen it up. I really worked to get that soil loosened up. I am thinking it might take a couple seasons before I get a decent flower bed. I will be surprised if I can get anything to grow in there this year. We will see...cross your fingers. It's a work in progress. I still have to get the new mulch down, but I'm too sore right now.
I really did it with this gardening. I almost never hurt my back....ever. Even when we were moving heavy furniture. I was sore but in my legs and arms. Now my back hurts and my arms and legs. Even so I managed to get some grocery shopping done yesterday. I cooked chili for dinner. And I vacuumed and dusted the house. I read the worse thing you can do is just be sedentary...then you get stiffer. So every so often I would get up and do something.
Tonight Greg will be watching the Hawks game. I try to get into it. But I really am not a sports person. I just sit in the family room with my laptop and fiddle around. I am making a not so healthy dinner too. Something called "loaded chicken and potatoes" it has bacon and cheese. But I thought it would be a nice change and I can eat more chicken then potatoes.
Well on the sad side...I was over at the main board and shocked and saddened to see one of the long time bandsters has pasted. She had a heart attack over the weekend. She was a 9 year band vet and seemingly healthy. It's just shocking. I think she was relatively young too...maybe in her early 60's. So sad to see her go.
Time to get going. Have a good day all.
When I look at the weather I first look at the percentages for my zip code and I also look on several different weather sites first. I find the most dependable site to be weather.gov. It is NOAA weather. When it says 20 or 30% chance then that is 80 or 70% chance it will not rain in your area. For my area 60143 the only day that I would watch would be Friday at 90% and I really do not care about that day because we will be in the Dells. I follow 4 different site, NOAA, WeatherBug, weather.com and Weather Underground. I think that Tommy Skilling mentions WeatherBug on his broadcasts and I highly respect him for accurate weather info and I do believe he pulls in info from NOAA.
Off to do a couple things in the yard. I need to trim three evergreens and hopefully I will not disturb my hummer girls because I will be on that side of the 3 season room. Well, since I started writing this it started to sprinkle and thunder - no power tools for me.
Off to unpack Dave's groceries instead.
