Friday Roll Call
Hello Dear Ones,
Standing outside, in the cold all day at work yesterday, was a true test of loyalty. It was not fit for beast or person yesterday. I cannot believe they even had an auction yesterday, let alone auctioned over 500 cars! Most of my regulars didnt show up so I made hardly no tips because who eats when you are freezing outdoors? Today my lower back is killing me and I also am getting a cold. The first one in over 2 years. I guess it's my turn. So no pool, but i am thinking of hitting the steam room and hot tub later.
Nancy, I need your expert Meow Advice. I was told dry cat food is bad for the kitties' kidneys. So I switched to wet about 3 months ago. My 2 older ones took to it fine, but my youngest had a difficult time but also finally went for it. But they have all lost a lot of weight on it. They used to be fat and sassy. Now they are all sleek and bony and I wonder if this is an issue? Have you been through this? My friends whose cats eat wet are all fat. Mine all eat and drink and use the box fine.
Crystal, I just read an article about people who marry in their 20's versus older. Youngers mostly want dream costly weddings and olders want a nice wedding they can budget for but prefer to spend their money on housing after the wedding. So I guess you are right on target for how you are thinking in regards to your big day. I look forward to the big party next Sept.
I am babysitting tonight because my son in law is out of town so I have to get this old body back into it's former glory (HAHAHAHAHA) and start my day.
Enjoy this day the Lord has made.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning, I have already been out and I will be leaving again within 2 hours. Why? I don't know. The wind is kicking up a storm, the snow is falling, and I guess I want to meet friends for lunch. Not that I am not going to see the same people for dinner tonight. Oh well, typical Friday.
I was thinking of you Sharon, I was wondering how you were doing yesterday with all the cold. Auctions seem to bring out people whatever the weather is. We use to do food service for 3 different auctioneers.
Don't kid us, you love having the kids around . :)
Well, now that I am thawed out again, I need to get the food put away.
Hugs, and stay warm.
Good afternoon Sharon and the rest of Illinois!
I am home after a quick trip into Freeport. I went in for a meeting and some errands, but when I got to the meeting, I discovered that I had left my purse at home (no wonder I felt that I was forgetting something when I left). With no money, no driver's license and no ID, there was not much I could do on the errands.
I am going to try a new chicken and rice casserole that may be my next meal exchange recipe. Todd and David can have that for dinner. I am ushering at the Playhouse this evening so I have to be out of here by 6:30. Tomorrow, I am going to a planning meeting for a women's luncheon then Sunday, meeting with my sponsor and sponsor-sisters.
Crystal----your wedding sounds fantastic and I look forward to your party in September. Smart of you to not start your new life in debt. Todd and I got married at the courthouse and had a reception the next month. We had friends in many areas, so the reception was probably less than $ 1,500. We are just as married as any other couple that spent tens of thousands. I would, however, like a renewal ceremony at some point since I never had one.
I am sending out resumes and have an interview next week. I am planning on driving sown to see Liv in two weeks, so hopefully, I will find something when I get back.
Today, it seems to have warmed up just enough for some snow. I had to laugh this morning when Liv's campus posted that the Starbucks truck was frozen and wouldn't be able to serve this morning. If that is the biggest issue her campus has, I am happy. It DID however get down to 10 last night there and they are not equipped to handle those temps. Even Liv didn't take proper clothing for that kind of weather. That is OK......it is to be back to 70 there this weekend.
That's about it for the northwest corner! Everyone have a great day!

I feed my babies both wet and dry food. However since Fluffer had an issue with his kidneys we now go grain free on the dry food. I either get the brand Nutri Source from my groomers which Buffy loves. She thinks it is treats and I have to open the bag and put it into another container or she will open the bag and help herself. The other kind I get at my grocery store and it is made by Pruina and it is grain free. Or I will go to the pet store and they have several varieties of grain free there as well. But the best liked is the Nutri Source. I am pretty sure that is is pet stores as well but I pick it up when Fluffer gets groomed.
They get the wet food in the morning and then have the dry food to munch on the rest of the day. This way they have their choice of what to eat and mine are nibblers most of the day.
