Friday Roll Call
Hi Peeps,
Brrrrrrrr, Carla is flying in on a very cold day. Vinny will keep her warm.
All the supper-club talk took me back to when we had a summer place years ago in Lake Mills, WI. The best part of the weekend was the supper clubs. Their fish frys and salad bars were amazing. I do recall there being residences right on the premises. Fun Times.
I love winter unlike some. Part of it I think is because my mom was from an Alp region of Germany and she took us bob-sled riding, ice skating and even ice fishing in the winter. We used to go for "Familienwanderungen" everyday. A term in German for Family Walking. We did it no matter what the temp when I was small. As my mom became more Americanized we did it less and less, but my childhood was filled with winter walks. My mom walked everyday after she retired until she got sick and that was the thing she always said she missed the most.
I weighed myself after work at the gym yesterday and I have lost 8 lbs! OK we all know its water, but I havent seen the scale budge in a loooooooooong time. I'll take it. I packed my lunch yesterday. Eveybody at work thoughtt I was a nut cake since I work in a food establishment. I think I may have sold over 100 cups of hot chocolate yesterday. i know I made 36 pots of coffee. I work in an outside hut at an auto auction. It has been humbling and such a blessing!
Jason, I cant believe its already been a year since your surgery. I am sorry you are having some issues still. I dont know if water therapy would help you, but the water is so good for strengthening and working out pain free.
Lisa, it sounds like you are doing amazing on staying on point for losing weight. Bravo! I am waking up pain free again and feel marvelous! Praying I keep on course.
Chris, I love a new computer. Enjoy. I find I spend less and less time on my computer and more time on my IPAD. But as I sit right now in front of my desk top, I know how much I love it and wouldnt want to be without one.
Crystal, is this your first Valentine with your fiance???? I cant tell you how happy you sound. You are so positive and obviously in love.
I am getting my hair cut and cleaning my house today.
Since my cats are sitting right in front of my computer screen and I cant see I will close.
Hugs to Nancy and Connie and Dawn and everyone!
Sharon
Got that right that it's cold out there.
Looks like you're doing good and the same for everyone else.
I still can't believe that it's going to be a year next month. Thank you, I'll ask this doctor that I'm going to see right on my 1 year anniversary and I'll bring it up to the doctor abou****er therapy. My aunt said something about having more rehab. The other day I almost fell, but I manage to keep my balance, this make about the second time that this has happen. I'll try to find out what's going on with me and find out about the M.R.I. once and if the doctor orders it once I have my visit on March 11th and take it from there. It seem there's always something with at some point down the road.
I just have to keep my head up and think positive.
Have a great day everyone.
Jason.

Hi All,
It is cold out there. I had to do my Friday errands. and left my gloves off during one of the stops. My fingers are still cold. I am heading out now to have lunch with friends, then home to work on taxes again, and maybe the puzzle. We are not going out tonight, since we will be tomorrow night.
Jason. it doesn't seem like a year for you. But, you are doing better.
It seems that Carla always comes in bad weather.
Gotta run,
Hugs,
Hi Lisa,
Yup it's been that long already. Where did the time go?, right? I'm am, but I think I can do a little better. Looks like I might be in another wild ride for this year like last year, only time can tell.
I hope you have a good time at lunch with your friends.
Right now I'm listing to my very first audiobook that I borrowed from the library called "The Gingerbread Girl" by Stephen King. So far it's okay, not use to it. I'm use to reading out of a book.
Have a great day.

Hello everyone
I am happy and for once I am looking forward to Valentines Day because I have someone that is actually doing something for me. We going somewhere to do something I wanted to do (he won't tell me what). And he has a surprise for me...I wonder what it could be!!! I know it can't be anything to big because we are saving for a multitude of things but it it's still exciting. Also, he said we have to nail down a day for the wedding this weekend...so I may have that figured out by the time I talk to you guys again.
Today at work they did this thing where we voted on things like who is more caring, who has the bubbliest personality, the best laugh....the point being that there are things more important than work...work...work. I got :I have the warmest smile. We had a huge potluck...I made oreo balls with strawberry in the middle. They were super yummy.
Tonight for Friday the 13th....I am watching a scary movie...Booooo!!!!
Well back to work my peeps. Have a good day.
Good evening Sharon and the rest of Illinois!
One more hour and I could start Friday's Roll Call!
I slept in this morning (I must have needed it) then woke to a phone that seemed to be blowing up with messages. Long story short, I got to take a friend to see a baby that was born yesterday. This baby was 5 weeks early and 4 lbs. 12 oz. The fantastic, miraculous news is that this baby is doing very well! She does not "look" like a preemie and she is learning to suck and eat very well. Hopefully, she will be able to come home with her mom in a day or two. Her parents are two of my, "kids" and I am so very proud of this little family. I am the closest of all the relatives, so I will be first in line to help out when they get home. YIPPEE! Holding that little bundle recharged my batteries!
I have been going through a lot of, "this time last year......." as I entered rehab on Valentine's Day last year. I went to a speaker meeting tonight to listen to one of my friends' story. Very inspiring! Sunday, my sponsor will present me a coin to celebrate my first year of recovery. Valentine's Day has never been a huge deal with Todd, so I don't really "celebrate". Now, I have something to celebrate the next day. I am blessed.
I continue to get on the bike each day and am trying to clean up my eating. I have lost about 5 lbs, but I'm not really going to count it until it is at least 10 and it stays off. I know I can do this.
I hope you are all doing well, and yes, Crystal.......I am so happy for you!
Have a great day!
