Happy New Year to You!

If you are going out tonight, dress warmly and make sure you take an extra blanket in the car with you, in case you have car trouble. We are only going about 2 miles from home, and staying in town. I am dressed for the day. We are leaving for dinner almost as soon as I get home. So, no time to gussie this old body up.

Nancy, I was sorry to see you have been under the weather. I have been lucky so far. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a great, if cold, day.

Hugs,

Lisa

Greetings!

I just pulled the cans out to the curb......babies it's cold outside.

G is working and on call. He LOVES his new job. He is working at Elmhurst Hospital and is happy. He left Roseland last August and tells me everyday he feels like a bird sprung from a cage.

We are staying in tonight. I am thinking of making ribs in the oven......way to cold to mess with the grill.

is it possible to have a raccoon living in the attic and not know it? A few months ago I posted on FB that I kept seeing a raccoon on my roof. Well I saw him again last night. Why would he hang out up there? I've never heard anything in the house............

i am going to hit the pool, go to food store and then get my bathrooms cleaned. What's on your agenda?

hugs,

Sharon

Dave and I have a long time friend that works at EMH. He designed the patient/guest's kitchens and was also helped with the design of the patient's rooms. He is the head of patient/laundry services. We were able to tour the hospital before it was opened for patients.

G took me on a tour. I call it the country club hospital. 180 degrees difference from Roseland.

I think G has found his forever home, God willing.......

Hello everyone

Well things just keep getting better and better.  At work yesterday my new boss called me into her office to tell me she is giving me a 8% raise!!!  WOW!!!  Not just a little raise but an 8%....she then said it was as close to 10% as she could get.  She wanted to give me a 10$ raise...OMG!!!  She said that I deserve more....I was speechless.  I am so used to being brow beaten by my last boss.  I got used to "the boss" thinking I am a useless idiot.  To have a boss that actually appreciates me.  What a nice feeling.  Of course Greg thinks that my old boss actually doesn't think I'm an idiot.  He says she is probably threatened by me and tries her best to make me look like an idiot.  I think she thinks I'm an idiot....or a really good actress.  LOL!!!!

I am looking forward to the festivities tonight.  I don't usually go out for New Years.  And this will only be my second New Years party that I have gone to....ever.  So this should be fun.  We bought this really yummy peach wine in Galena for tonight.  I am not a big alcohol person but if I do drink it has to be fruity...hahaha!!!  And peach wine....how different is that???

Sharon-  I know this isn't the same thing but I had a friend that had a family of skunks living UNDER her house for who knows how long before she figured it out.  I think it's possible.

Well Have a Happy New Year everyone

Happy New Year my friends!

We are probably going to stay home and just veg. We are tired and need a break. The store has been hectic and fun but we'll probably be asleep by ten tonight. We are looking forward to doing nothing tomorrow! Then we'll have energy for the next two days. We've both had colds and coughs, but not the actual flu. But the coughs wear you down.

I hope all of you have a lovely and safe New Year's Eve!

Connie

I know I will be fast asleep and just like every year, the fireworks will cause me to roll over and know it's next year. Feel better.

Good Evening Everyone.

My afternoon became successful.  I went to try one last time to get Rick's computer up and running so I did not have to return it and managed to get it done!  It is now up and running and everything is running smoothly!  So, I am not sure what all was the problem but whatever it was, I managed to bypass it.  But it took me 2 days.  I think I will take Amazon up on a 20% refund since it did not work right out of the box.  It did take me all afternoon to get everything done.  Why this always takes so much time I do not know.

One more day off and then it is back to work on Friday, then a weekend off and then back to the grind once again.  Time off flew buy!  The cats have loved having me home and Buffy is getting really spoiled wanting to be held all the time.  She will have fits when I go back to work.

Crystal, congrats on the raise!     We all know what a hard worker you are and what a horrible boss you had.  I agree with the comment that maybe she was feeling out done and was belittling you to make herself look good.  I am so happy that others are seeing it and finally recognizing you for it!

Dawn, I am glad that you are having time with Liv.  You surly must have missed her this fall.

Sharon, it looks like there have been lots of changes in you life as well this fall with G having a new job, your success in recovery and with all of your exercising.  Congrats to both of you.

Connie and Kay, it has been a whirl wind of a 6 month store opening but it appears that this has been a very successful venture.  Your picture of the customers at your sale the other day showed a pretty packed store.  Congrats.  Take some time to rest and enjoy your success tomorrow!

Lisa, I hope all is well with you.

Everyone have a happy New year!
