Wednesday Roll Call
Still sleepy!
I am off to see the Wizard of Work soon.I am not sure what I am doing later on today after work but I need to get my backside in gear as next Wednesday we leave for the Dells for a few days. My late sister's kids are having a family memorial service at Castle Rock. My one niece has a summer home right on the lake. It is a huge lake (flowage) that is man made. It connects to Petenwell Lake. The two lakes are part of the hydoroelectric system on the WI River. I have a long history up there back to a great uncle who was part of the work crew that dug the two lakes and built the damns. My folks retired up there (Adams Co side) and my sister had a summer place on the Juneau Co side of the lake. We will be on the Adams Co side of the lake. Weather is always iffy on this week-end so I need to take two types of clothing plus rain gear. We are not staying until Labor Day and will come back on Sunday. I hate holiday traffic and it is dangerous.

Good Morning,
We had a nice rain yesterday, but it didn't last long enough. The main thing it did was raise the humidity. I am still hoping to paint the porch swing, but the humidity is stopping me.
Otherwise, just working on some stuff here in the house.
All the schools here in Streator are back in session. The neighborhood is quiet during the day.
Dawn, glad you are home.
Crystal, do you know what day yet?
Hugs,
Hello everyone
Well all the excitement of Amanda coming is finally getting the best of me. My band is acting up. Like always when I experience any kind of extreme emotion good or bad my band tightens up on me and I have problems. So last night I had a bad night. My food was backing up on me. I had to sleep in an elevated position. When Amanda left for Peru it got so bad I threw up. Hopefully that doesn't happen. I am taking it easy, food wise today and sticking to soft foods. So its cottage cheese for lunch and mashed potatoes for dinner...or something like that. Nothing too dense.
Of course this all new to Greg and he was all worried and thought I needed to see a doctor. I said...no no. This is par for the course. Now if I am still having problems a week from now I will go.
Amanda is coming tonight/early this morning...and she is flying into Bloomington. Not O'Hare. My first time there.
This day can't go by fast enough.
Well I got to get back to work. Have a good day
Good Evening Christine and the rest of Illinois!
I am home. Liv is not. Very, very strange. Not in a bad way though. I am actually much less sad than I thought I would be. With the technology, we can stay in touch pretty easily. It is just very quiet around here. It will be even quieter this weekend when I am home alone. Todd is going to a beer festival and I have opted out.
The trip went well, mostly. Todd got a bit cranky and negative at times, but I tried to steer him in a more positive direction.
On Friday morning, I got lots of texts of congratulations on my six month sober mark. At first, he was kind of pissy that I was on the phone so much. (Riley called me also.) When I told him why the phone was going off so much, he actually congratulated me and said that I was doing well. So.....that was something. I think that he is trying, in his way. I guess I just have to remember to be assertive and let him know when he is out of line.
Crystal......by now, you have probably reunited with Amanda and Charles. I KNOW how good that must feel! Give her lots and lots of big hugs. How long will they be in Washington and where are they going after?
On my first day without kids, I had a couple appointments, a bit of grocery shopping then came home and cleaned the fridge from stem to stern. Before we left, there was something smelly in there and I thought I got it. Last night, when we got home, there was still an odor. When I cleaned it out, I did not find anything. Strange......I mentioned it to Todd and he said that HE had thrown out a bag of corn that was rank earlier today. Oh well......now I have a clean fridge and no one to really mess it up!
Tomorrow, I have a bit more housework, a few errands in Freeport then home to make beer can chicken and fresh corn. I also have some step work for my meeting with my sponsor on Friday.
Life is good!
