Good Morning,

I just made some macaroni salad for tomorrow, now to finish some stuff I need to do, such as clean the house. Other then that, it will be a quiet Saturday.

Depending on the weather, I may paint my porch swing. I did the bench in white, and I love it, so the swing will be next. I am also working on my project for the  Burgoo Festival in October.

This is the last weekend of summer vacation for all the schools in this area. Most start on Monday or Tuesday.

Hugs,

Lisa

Hello all!!  How is everyone?

Well I'm day 2 of the pre-op liquid diet. Yesterday was surprisingly good.

*****I have a question though.... Ok so the Kane Center's requirements for the two week pre-op are liquids ONLY!! 4-5 Bariatric Advantage shakes per day, also can have jello, crystal light, light juices, and popsicles.  Now hears my question..... They said I can BLEND in fruit.... yogurt...little bit of peanut butter.... or nuts??  What is the difference of BLENDING in those foods vs eating those foods, they are solids??  I would never just eat them (fear of ruining my pre-op), but isn't that the same?? Shakes mean shakes....I'm freaking out! Can someone please explain this??  Monday can't come soon enough, when the office opens to ask them.

Otherwise we are gong to my parent's today for the day.. they are very supportive!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Jessica

I would double check on those ingredients. That sounds like a PO ingredient for a shake. Stick with only liquids until then - broths, jello, popsicles all the rest that you mentioned.

Jessica, from what I remember, you have the shakes for 2 meals a day, plus,1 light real meal. popcycles ans jello, alng with broth, are liquids. they can be eaten anytime.

But, check with the Kane Center, I may be wrong.

Yeah, no I confirmed the other day that their pre-op is only shakes... I asked the girl I heard that some people on the message boards should drink shakes and one light meal... she said no it's shakes, with other liquids.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah ... I'm just going to stick with the shakes ONLY.  I figured the first three days must be the hardest?... I hope.. LMAO!!!

Come Monday "IF" I can add blended stuff in it will be a creative bonus and get me thru the rest of the pre-op.

Thanks

Jess

I would stick only to the jello juices, shakes and popsicles.  Two things really saved me during my liquid diet.  I have become a popsicle junkie and hot tea took that edge off when I wanted something extra.  Also I found that taking the vegetable stock and chicken stock and mixing them together made a much better liquid soup.  It was much more flavorful than either alone.  I just mixed it half and half.   Good Luck!  The first 3 days are the hardest and after that it was not bad at all!  I just kept telling myself that I did not want my surgery to be an open surgery but I wanted it to be laproscopic.  Open surgery is definitely a 6 Week recovery period where laproscopic is a lot easier and faster.  I have had both and give me laproscopic any day!  I had years of pain from  scar tissue from my open gallbladder susgery that required additional procedures and injections and treatments and tests to identify where the pain was coming from.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I have been a HUGE MIA lately.  I am so sorry.  Work has been incredibly busy.  I get home at night and just collapse.  They have let a lot of people go and it is taking its toll on the rest of us.  The call volume is insane and all of the email and fax orders are now being outsourced to India and that is not going well and customers are not happy which makes out days even more difficult because we get to soothe ruffled feathers and irate customers. Plus the company expects us to create white wash which does not sit well with me at all. This makes for some very interesting times as I try to skirt around the truth without lying because I refuse to do that.   Customers deserve more respect than that.  On top of that customers are getting more snarly by the day.  Fun, fun fun, NOT  Plus changes are happening by the minute and no one knows what is going on and even when you do, that changes before you can grasp what that change is.  Of course, the peons are the last to get  wind of anything but we are the ones on the front lines and the ones that need to know.  Go figure.

On the home front, life has been a money pit.  My ho****er heater went out a couple of weeks ago. So I have had to replace the freon in my ac and pay a repair bill in one month and buy a new ho****er heater in the next month.  Then the microwave went out.  I sent Rick out to buy a replacement.  Big mistake.  Like a typical guy, bigger is better.  We went from a 1.4 cubic foot microwave to a 2.4 cubic microwave. This thing is HUGE and has all the bells and whistles on it.  Granted, he does the cooking, but it is more an industrial microwave than a home one.  Men!   I could not believe it.

This weekend, I am kicking back and relaxing.  My only project is to install a new set of phone.  The old set is on its last legs.

I will try to get on more often.

Have a great weekend!
