Happy Hump Day!

Not sure how all of you are today, but every bone and joint in my body is aching! This rain has got to stop.

No major plans for today. I may start on another drawer in the guest room. It is filled with scrapbooking supplies, and really, I don't know what is in it. But, it is packed to the top.

I think we are going to the marina for dinner tonight. They have cheap chicken on Wed. Like $3.99 for a quarter, fries and slaw.

Crystal, your supervisor sounds like a person you don't want to cross. I agree with Christine, go to HR and file a complaint.

Have a great day,

Hugs,

Lisa

Hi friends, I've been working 8-10 hours a day at the shop trying to get things ready. A friend has been helping me with the computer stuff and her husband will hang the slatwall on Saturday. (The fedex guy just delivered three big boxes and he put them right in the van.) we figured out how to do bar codes and price tags yesterday. That was a big victory! I'm sure we'll be ready in time. I'm also getting a lot more exercise!

have a good day and stay dry!

Connie

Hi Peeps,

Well, the good news; I got hired for a full-time job to do billing for a large gyne practice in Mokena. I will have to travel to Evergreen Par****il November because the they are building a new office in Mokena that will be complete in Nov. I havent punched a clock in decades, but I am excited to do my 40 hours and be done with it. I start on June30th.

Lisa, I too hate the humidy and rain. My poor dog hates going out in this and since she is 14 is very stubborn about it. I hate making her go out there......

Christine is correct. Crystal, your boss is abusive and HR should protect the staff from bullying by a manager. I strongly encourage you to start keeping a daily journal of what you see and hear regarding this. It doesnt have to be in-depth, just the facts and dates with times. You may need it in the future. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. Yuck!

Connie, electronic merchandising/inventory is the way to go. It will be the best in so many ways. Congrats again on this wonderful venture.

Stay dry dear ones!

Sharon

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm doing okay today, but my joints have been hurting off and on for the last week or so, sorry to hear that you're hurting Lisa. Same here about the rain.

I had to make some phone calls today that I had to do and took care of. I have some things to do between now and Friday morning. I'll be in the Rockford/Byron/Oregon area from this Friday to early Sunday and will be back home. I need the much needed rest and relaxation. I wish you luck for the guest room Lisa.

Sounds good for the meal for tonight.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Hello everyone

I just got home and making dinner.  I am making homemade mac & cheese.  It's not as bad as it sounds.  I don't use a lot of cheese and use gluten free macaroni.  And it's a whole lot better than the store bought crap full of chemicals.

It's funny everyone is complaining about the weather affecting their joints...it affects my sinuses and my ears.  I have been stuffy with my ears popping for a couple of days now.

So I am treating myself for my birthday (which is Friday) and I am getting a fancy facial at a fancy place.  It's my first ever facial so I hope it's as nice and relaxing as it sounds.  And I hope it makes my skin nice and bright.

ALSO- Sharon-  I took your advice and I called that lady and made an appointment to have my hair done.  Yeah!!!  So I am treating myself all over the place!!!

Christine...and the rest of you...thanks for your advice.  I decided to start keep a log on my phone of everything.  Not just what happens to me.  I even recorded her today being all condescending to one of my coworkers.  Cell phones...you gotta love them.

But maybe something is happening.  I don't know.  The controller is down at the headquarters and one of my coworkers is worrying about what is going on.  She is worried that they are telling her everything that was said and when the controller comes back "heads will roll"...I hope not.

Have a good evening all...bye

Have to say - watch about recording a person without them knowing it. Illinois law says that ALL parties have to consent to the conversation being recorded. Written logs are better.

PS I have to add that that is poor judgement on the powers that be that came to the office. They should have kept their mouths shut. Does the co-worker have something to worry about? I always feel that those that excuse themselves accuss themselves. I think I spelled accuss incorrectly.

Good Evening Everyone!

I am hanging in there. i still feel like crap so it is a struggle to get through the day.  i spend the night coughing my head off so am not getting much sleep.  I did come home from work today and took a nap.  AAAHHH!

Monday, I still had off and Cheyenne was still here so we headed over to our local canal locks and went on a boat ride pulled by mules.  It was very nice.  I had always wanted to go but since it is local it was always there so always put off.  Then we went over to one of the locks to watch the barges lock through.  She left on Tuesday.

Sharon, Congrats on the  job!  That was a short job search!  i am so proud of you.  I hope this one turns out better!

Crystal, i do hope something changes about your boss. I have one of those managers and she just does not realize how she comes off.  Over the past year, I am finally starting to get through to her and we are beginning to improve our communication.  I can now say what i dont like about how she addresses me and if she does not listen, I take it up with her supervisor.  it took a long time getting there.

Now if there was an easy cure for dumb customers  My dumb customer quote for today was "  Just because I signed for a package that does not mean that I received that package.  (there was only 1 box on the order.)  She  then follows that statement with the comment of Maybe I should open all of my boxes"     Do ya think that would help if you did that before calling customer service to find out where your order was?   You gotta love these people.  They are dead serious.

I hope people have a better day tomorrow and feel better fast.

Connie, the store sounds like it is moving along smoothly for opening day!
