Saturday Roll Call

Good Morning,

Well, yesterday was a first in a long time. No one posted the Roll Call!

Yesterday, we woke up a bit later then we planned, and headed for the burbs. We went to see my cousin who had gastric on Tues. She is having a few problems, so the Dr. is keeping her in until tomorrow at least. Not all related to her gastric. We then went shopping.

I love Coopers Hawk for lunch. I had their Ahi Tuna (small plate) and a cup of Lobster and Crab bisque. Hubert had a picture perfect cheeseburger and he said the best Comfort Old Fashion he has had in a long time.

We then went shopping. Home Goods, where I bought a large mirror on sale. Then to Garden Ridge where I picked up a couple of pretties for the back yard.

Then, I really blew my budget. To the Apple store we went. A new IPod Air, and a cover with the keyboard attached. I also bought the 2 year extended warranty. That was enough damage to my checkbook. Now this morning, I have to get gas, and do some other errands.

tomorrow we will be going to Bloomington for Scott's birthday. It seems we either are busier then ever, or nothing.

We are getting snow, again. Yesterday was so nice and mild. A touch of spring.

Have a great Saturday!

Hugs,

Lisa

Good morning! Last night I had a dinner and a movie date with my 7 year old grand daughter. We went to TGI Fridays, she loves their chicken tenders. I decided to have the same thing. It was too much food so we brought home enough for lunch for 2 today! We then went to see The Lego Movie. She loved it. Today I get to go have tea with the fairies. It's called Frolic with the Fairies. My daughter and grand daughter wanted me to join them. Then tomorrow, it's get ready to start the work week all over again. I seen the orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday and in June I will be having Total Right Hip Replacement. I had the left done in 2010 and never have had any more issues with it, so I am hoping for the same results. He then said the knees will be next, they are all shot!  Time for a cup of coffee so until tomorrow!

Hello Karen R.,

I noticed in your post that you had a Total Left Hip Replacement and will get you right hip done. I'll get a Total Hip Replacement on both hips starting with my left hip some time this year or next year then my right hip. I see that you'll have you knees done too. I have a Total Left Knee Replacement in April of 2013, I'm doing great with it. I'll need a Total Right Knee Replacement once I have my left hip, right hip, and then my right  knee replaced. I do have a Chiari Malformation Type 1 surgery this Tuesdays. Once I recover for that and get clearance to do everyday stuff then I'll setup something with my orthopedic surgeon to get my left hip done. In a way You and I are in the same boat in getting our joints replaced.

Have a great day today and weekend.

Jason.

Hi Jason, it does sound like we are in the same boat. My left hip is doing great. I can not wait to get the right done. It is in so much pain that when I go to get in the car I shake when I am picking the leg up to get it high enough to get in the car. The doctors think from the xrays that the hip is worse than the knee at this time. Good luck on your surgery Tuesday. I was not familiar with this so I googled it. I will say a special prayer for you on Tuesday morning when I get up!

Hi Karen,

Indeed. That's great to hear about your left hip. I bet you can't wait to get your right hip done. I'm the same way with my knees. My left knee is doing great. My next Total Joint Replacement will be my left hip then my right hip then my right knee. I have a lot of pain in my joints from arthritis. My hips hurt when I get in & out of a car. Before I had my left knee done, my left knee at that time the worst joint. My joints are bad. Due to my bad knees & bad hips my posture is not right. As far as my surgery goes for this coming Tuesday I can't wait to get it over and done with. I found out last year that I have this Chiari condition and I'm still learning about it. Thank you so very much for the special prayer.

Have a great evening.

Jason.

Hello everyone

having a good day today. I am relaxing by a fireplace watching Chris play Pokemon with the boys.

Yesterday at work I had words with my boss.  I was respectful but after having her berate me for ten minutes about the state of the accounts and me not understanding things fully.  I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. I said the accounts never looked like this in the old systems. Everything was cleaned up and balanced and reconciled. And as for not understanding...you don't even understand and your my boss!!! So please stop acting like I'm a slacker.  And she says I never said you were.  And she stopped picking on me and left me alone.  I didn't raise my voice and said everything in an even tone. So she can't say I did anything wrong. On top of that there was issues with the payroll and people didn't get paid on time.  Including yours truly. So we had a lot of angry people to contend with. So it was a long crappy day.  Ugh!!!

i left work ran some errands picked up dinner for myself. Went home and it was wrong.  So I made steak fajitas they turned out so yummy And tender.  You bake them instead of stir fry. It was  great.  Then I relaxed and watched my new Hunger Games movie.

I hope you all have a good day. Bye.

Crystal,

Your manager sounds like a short-sighted, rude bully who probably is getting the heat from corporate and doesn't know how to process her issues or communicate with her managers or her staff. Good for you for standing your ground. You have always been a great worker who managed her time and took prides in her work. Too bad things have gotten so awful there. At one time, it sounded like a wonderful place to work. Hang in there. Sharon

Hello Everyone!

I am so glad it is the weekend.  I slept in this morning and am playing this afternoon.  I am sick and tired of winter.  I hope we see an end to it soon but I am beginning to think I am stuck in the movie Groundhog day except the title is winter time.  Just as we start seeing snow melting and streets clearing up, we get another snow storm.  It was that same scenario again this week.

Then there is always work to keep things exciting.  I swear if it is not one thing it is another.  This week I spent a half an hour trying to find an order for H and R block and was having a devil of a time only to find out after a half hour that she was in Canada.  Once she told me she was in Canada, everything fell into place and I realized that she wanted our Canadian division.    No wonder none of the information that she was giving me was making sense!

Then there is my  personal hell.  I paid a bill for a visit to my neurologist last fall with my credit card from my flexible spending account.  About a month after I paid it the office manager started harassing me for a payment stating I had not paid.  Finally she admitted that she tore up my card payment.  Why, I do not know.  To me, I paid that bill.  They chose not to process my payment so I am taking my time making another payment.  They WERE paid.  Well then the doctor wrote me and dropped me as a patient.  That made me madder.  I wrote her back and explained to her that she had indeed been paid to talk to her office manager about the payment.  Thursday I got supponeaed for a court summons as the doctor is taking me to small claims court for not paying her.  All this for a bill of $100 that is not even 6 months old!  I am so mad!  I do not feel that she has the right to sue me.  I paid her and they decided to not process the payment.  That is not my problem.  They have/had their money.  Why should I pay twice?  GRRR.  Now I have to take time off of work to go to court to fight this!

Well life is interesting.

Jason, good luck with your surgery on Tuesday.

Karen, I am so sorry that you need the hips replaced and the knees.  I know the knee replacement really helps  I love my new knees.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Nancy,

Thank you so very much. I need it. I hope I don't get any more surprises between now and the day of my surgery. It's going to be busy for me between now and this coming Tuesday, even the last few days has been busy for me. I know I'll get a phone call the day before the surgery to let me know when to come in for me surgery.

Have a great day and weekend Nancy.
