Sunday Roll Call

One more day of the week-end - Yeah! Not much on my table today other than I will put a bone in turkey breast in the oven. I might walk down to the train station and drop off some books on the rack. There is one of those "take one, leave one" free book racks. I have picked up some nice books from there and then returned them for others to enjoy also. What is happening in your corner of Lincoln Land?

PS - no Oscar watching for us - boring. I have a stack of DVDs sitting on the desk. Also a VHS tape of Pollyanna - one of my favorite movies.

Hello everyone

I did a lot of running around and cleaning yesterday but the last part of the day was nothing but sitting around and relaxing.  It was so nice.  I haven't had a relaxing weekend in weeks.  Today I have to do laundry and I have to make Amanda her brownies but that's it then I'm sitting on my butt and doing nothing. 

I also don'****ch the Oscars or any other awards shows.  I find them boring.  I haven't seen a movie in a long time.  I might find a movie on my Roku I want to see and watch that.

I talked to my Amanda.  She is feeling homesick and unappreciated.  Not that she was looking for people to praise her for her work.  But she was telling me a story about how she was walking down the street picking up litter off the street and some old guys were pointing and making fun of her.  And that upset her.  She doesn't expect thanks but doesn't expect ridicule.  She also had her phone stolen by someone in her own village...so by the very people she is helping.  So she is feeling like these people just don't care about what she is trying to do to help them better their lives.  And she is getting frustrated...poor Amanda.  She comes home in October.  I can't wait.  She misses Jimmy Johns sandwiches and Chocolate cake shakes from Portillos and Pizza and my cheesecake...awww.

Sounds like she is just about at burn out with her service. She needs a break. A theft like she experienced could have happened here also. Just tell her that all of us on the IL board are in awe of their sacrifice and service to people in a third world country. I have traveled to many other countries (by far a lot shorrter) and come back so tired but fired up.

Yesterday was some what nonproductive.  Ry and I did go and look at cabinets and counter tops.  Still on the fence if I should stain the kitchen cabinets like I did the bathroom ones, or leave them or gut the kitchen and redo it.  Needless to say, my anxiety got to me while we were out yesterday.  We didn't have time to do our taxes, so today I'm get everything organized and layed out so when Ry comes home, we can maybe tackle it.  

I do have to run out today and go to Target and then return some movies.  I need to run to Marshall's and look for a new bed spread and fireplace mantel decorations.  Maddie is still grounded so I'll be going out my myself:(

Been sort of non productive myself. Took a nap both yesterday and today. Futzed around a little bit in the house, read and now just about ready to eat din din. Dave does our tax paperwork gathering. I put together the info that is ordered on line (Amazon & Fire Mountain Gems) that does not charge taxes and I provide him the spread sheet with the purchase $$ total. We use an accountant because of our charitable contributions. Dave does not want to deal with it. We get $$ back almost every year.

I don'****ch the award shows either. A total waste of time.

We didn't get as much snow as they said we would. I am happy with that. I will be going out later and sweep off my car, so it is done for work tomorrow. I do have to go get my annual blood tests tomorrow before I go to work. Itwon't take but a few minutes, so I won't be late to work. Then, tomorrow afternoon,  we will be going to Bloomington. I finished icing  4 doz. cookies to take tomorrow.I think they came out great.

I got my laundry all done. Meals all planned for the week since I have a full week. Moved the car so this fine snow won't drift me in. Christine, I watched Pollyanna yesterday 2 times on Hallmark Movie Channel! I also watched Swiss Family Robinson. Not much really going on!
