Monday Roll Call
Hi from snowy Rockford,
Right now it looks like we are in a snow globe--really beautiful! I've loved the snow this winter. I know most people are sick of it but I'm enjoying every minute. When I knit at the Woolgathering I sit on a sofa where the sun is in my eyes all day and I really believe that has helped my mood significantly.
We've seen Phantom four times in Chicago and it's a production worth seeing! Also I just love the music! Lisa you have to see it on a big stage like in Chicago or St. Louis because of the special effects. It can't be done in a small theater. It's worth the effort even though I absolutely hate going to downtown Chicago!
I hope everyone stays safe today. It's probably a good thing it's a holiday for many.

Hello everyone!! Happy Monday.
We were all off today. The weekend was really good. Our friend and his daughter spent the weekend with us. Texas Roadhouse was awesome. We had a great waitress *****ally helped to make the evening fun. Saturday was good, and my son's cabaret night was fantastic. It was our first year at this event, and I will be doing my best to tell as many people about it for next year. It was a great time!! Yesterday was church and grocery shopping and then hanging out. Hubby had to work today and our friends just left about an hour ago. He drives a snow plow, so he'll be working into the wee hours today.
The girls have definately been cooped up too long. They both got all the snow gear on and are outside enjoying the snow. I wish I could be out there with them, but with so much flab, I just can't do it. I hope next year after losing weight, I will be able to go out and play again.
For those of you out and about, I hope you make it home safely.
Lisa
Hello Everyone!
What a day. It was horrible going into work this morning, roads were nasty and they were worse coming home. I came home at noon. When I got to work I started sliding around and almost falling down walking into the building. After watching the snow pour down all morning I decided I was not going to stay another 4 hours and have that much more snow added. There was about 4 - 5 inches when I left work. I got stuck in my driveway 3 times getting into it. But I am now dug out and ready to go again tomorrow. I am done with this weather!
I had a lazy weekend. I did a lot of snuggling with Smudge. She is gradually coming around. Gizmo gave her a good cleaning on Saturday so she has decided he is ok. She and Buffy played chase on Sunday so they are semi ol. They still hiss at each other. Everyone else is still off limits. IT is killing Smokey. He wants to play with the new kitty so badly. And she just hisses and swats him. He backs off and tries to be respectful of her but you can see that it is taking all the willpower that he has to hold back.
Gauge is coming for a visit on Thursday. I am so excited to see him. We haven't seen him since Thanksgiving. I think he will be taking his car back to school after break. If so, I have a feeling we may see him more often.
Rick and I have finally got a patent for an idea that he has invented. We are now seeking funders to get it off the ground. It is an attachment that you use with one of those motorized carts in stores that allows you to pull a regular shopping cart behind you. That way, you have room for everything you want to buy and do not have to fit everything into that small basket on those motorized carts. We are excited about it. We get lots of comments about it when we use it at the store.
I hope everyone is home safe and sound tonight. Drive carefully out there tomorrow.
