Thursday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Will my Hell ever end...no I don't think so.

So it seems that I might have to go back and redo a bunch of my work because it didn't post correctly.  So much for almost being done....Ugh!!!

I feel so frustrated.  I was in tears yesterday at work.  My friends at work were really nice and understanding.  Even my boss was nice.  We have a meeting today at 10:30 so I don't know what is happening at that meeting.  But I am feeling overwhelmed and over worked at this point.  And the prospect of having to redo a bunch of December's work and part of January's is so disheartening.  So more and more overtime.  I just don't have time for anything.  I need to run errands and do groceries and I don't have time.

Well there is my tale of woe.

I really have no ther things to talk about because my whole life revolves around work now.  So what are you guys up to today?

Have a good day all...see you later

Happy Thursday!

I am sorry that you are having to go through so much re-do of work. That is really, really rough.

Not much going on in my world today, usual stuff... work, and tonight my son has basketball practice and that is about it.

Can I ask the ladies, this "hormone dumping" thing that people talk about, do you think that it is real? I have searched online to see if there is a connection between RNY and hormones, and I am not really finding anything. I have been a real peach...not... to live with these days and I wanted to see if it really is real.

Stay warm everyone! Looks like we are in for another week of non-30s+ temps.

Joan

Joan, I have never heard of ''hormone dumping". Dumping is usually connected with eating the wrong thing or to much. You would know if you hadever done it.You are misrible. Yolu can get cold sweats, tummy upset, vomit ect.

Your body is changing. So is your mindset. And with this winter that is never ending, I think we all have a bad time or two.

Will you be joining us on Sunday?

Hugs,

Lisa

Hormones are stored in your fat and when you are losing weight so rapidly, you may experience some mood changes.  I know I did about mid way through my weight loss  I could not stand to be in the same room as myself.  The emotions were all over the place.  It does go with the weight loss territory and it helps to know what is happening.  That makes it easier to cope.  Knowing what was happening made it easier  to forgive myself an my mood swings.

Hi Joan!

I had terrible problems with mood swings about 3-6 months out.  Like nancy, I could barely stand to be in the same room with myself.  It evened out and no one got hurt.  This too shall pass.

Tell someone that you love them!

Bummer that you are have such a rough time at work.  That really bites.

I'm sitting here at my desk in the office and freezing my butt off.  My desk is right by a window up on the 10th floor, so it just gets cold over here!!  But other than that I cannot complain.

I hope everyone stays warm and happy!

Good Morning,

Crystal, I am so sorry that you are having work problems. I know it can't be fun. But, take some time for yourself. They can't expect you to devote 18 hours a day to work. You need a break.

Lisa, I feel for you. I work in a couple of different offices during the week, and the one where I am 2 days a week, I bought a small heater for. Put it under your desk, and let it blow on you. You will be toasty all day long. Will you be able to join us on Sunday.

Sharon, did you make it in to your office on Wed?

Dawn, are you going to make it on Sunday? Nancy?

I will be there if the weather allows it.

I finished painting my wall yesterday. Now all I have to do is put the hardware back on all the doors and drawers.

I am starting to look for some spring stuff. I donot wear shorts (9 inch), but I do wear burmudas and capries. Most of the stuff I wore last year will be to big on me, as I am finding out even now. Isn't it great to be a loser!

Have a great cold sunny day. Stay warm.

Hugs.

I wish I could have a heater.  It's a big no-no (especially in a downtown hi-rise) and they will yank it faster than you can say, warm me up!

I won't be able to come on Sunday.  I'll be in ****ro for church till at least 1:00.  Do you do these events on other days/times?

I have a quesiton for everyone.  For those of you with children, at what point did you tell the kids what you were doing?

Lisa, my "kids" are in thier 40's, and I had no problem with them. In fact, my oldest, Monica, had RNY 4 years ago. She is super happy as I am. My problem was my husband at first. He wanted me to tell no one, and did the old you could diet and lose it. Well, I informed him that I was doing this for me. Not him, or anyone else. Once he understood, he is my biggest supporter.

I dont have kids so I cannot tell you when is a good time.

But realize that kids are more aware of things going on than we realize.  First with surgery, you are in the hospital for 3 days and do not always feel the best when you first come home.  Plus when you are eating the equavilant of a shot glass of jello and getting stuffed, they will look at you and wonder what the heck is going on.  My great niece thought those cute little jello cups were delightful and she would eat 3 or 4 for each one I had.  They took everything in stride.

I chose to tell a few of my coworkers that I was close to but the rest I did not say anything.  I am a fairly open person so if someone was really wanting to know what was going on, I told them.  It was a lot easier to deal with and it made it easier to say no to treats being brought in.  Of course there are some that will eye everything you put in your mouth and be critical.  I chose to ignore those people.

My family was very supportive except for my oldest sister.  She had a lot of misinformation and opinions about the surgery but after I educated her she became one of my biggest supporters.
